It’s been a little less than a week since the highly anticipated second installment of Bridgerton season 3 was released. So, was the wait worth it? What did our favorite characters get up to in the Ton for the remainder of the season? Was there a happy ending for Colin after all? For coverage of the explosive new season, continue reading below!
Bridgerton Season 3, Part 2: What’s The Hit Shondaland Show About?
Bridgerton follows the well-respected Bridgerton family, which consists of eight children: Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth. The show is set in Regency-era England in a wealthy society where the marriage mart is often the most exciting season around. While each season focuses on the love story of a different sibling, this season’s central focus was on third-born Colin Bridgerton and his long-awaited romance with his best friend, Penelope Featherington.
In typical Shonda Rhimes fashion, Bridgerton brings the drama with every episode! This season, one of the largest anticipated reveals was that of Lady Whistledown, the town gossip. Although Lady Whistledown’s identity was revealed to audiences at the end of season 1, most of the characters in the show remain unaware of who she is. The only exception is Eloise, Penelope’s former best friend. After Eloise finds out what her friend had been keeping from her during Season 2, the duo has an explosive fight, and when we pick up in Season 3, they are still picking up the pieces from that shocking betrayal.
As you can imagine, Eloise naturally isn’t too keen on Penelope dating her brother. Will Penelope’s secret doom her romance with Colin before it even has the chance to start? Or will Penelope come clean and reveal her secret? Will Eloise tell Colin what she knows? You’ll have to tune in to find out! So much goes down this season on Bridgerton, particularly in the last four episodes. As someone who recently binged all of Part 2, I can confidently say you won’t regret it!
Bridgerton Season 3, Part 2: Review

As a huge fan of Colin and Penelope, I was so looking forward to this second installment to see how the writers wrapped up Polin’s storyline! It felt like this season’s payoff was years in the making. Unlike previous couples, Colin and Penelope are a couple growing since Season 1, from a one-sided pining on Penelope’s end to a mutual affinity for each other and an eventual courtship. So, it’s nice to finally see them get together; it feels like it was long-awaited! According to reports, Season 3 is the most streamed Bridgerton season yet, so they must be doing something right!
Additionally, I loved how they highlighted so many other characters this season, especially Cressida and Lady Featherington. Of all the characters, these two could have very easily been labeled villains in prior seasons, yet the writers were careful not to villanize them. Rather, they showed their humanity as an opportunity for continuous character development, which really helped audiences empathize with these two characters in particular.
By the end of the season, each character had come so far you could really see their growth throughout the season. Plus, I think this continued growth will keep the door open for future storylines, particularly for Cressida, because there is still so much potential for her to grow and develop as a character moving forward.
Cressida’s storyline, in particular, is a nice juxtaposition to those of the other members of the ton. It often shows just how trivial everyone else’s problems are, whereas she is actually dealing with a lot of real-life things. In this season, we watched as her father tried to marry her off to one of his extremely elderly friends, for goodness sake! Personally, I think Cressida’s story highlights just how good characters like Eloise and the other Bridgertons have it; they were extremely lucky to be born into the family like theirs, rather than a family like Cressida’s.
Overall, what I loved most about this season was how they let each character shine in their own way. I especially loved the attention to storylines of previously overlooked characters like Cressida and Lady Featherington. We got to see a reconciliation between Penelope and her mother after witnessing their tumultuous relationship the past few seasons. It really was a season of redemption arcs!

What Are the Other Bridgerton Siblings Up to in Season 3, Part 2?
While a large focus of the season was on Colin Bridgerton, no season would be complete without the other Bridgerton siblings as well. So, what was our favorite high-society London family up to for the rest of the season? After their fallout in the previous season, Season 3 really dedicated a lot of attention to Eloise and Penelope’s friendship, which I loved! They are one of my favorite duos on the show, so I’m really glad the writers took the time to explore their changing relationship throughout the season.
In regard to the other siblings, Anthony remains happily married to Kate, whom we watched fall in love last season. With Benedict and Francesca’s storylines this season, we got a lot in terms of queer representation. Benedict begins exploring his sexuality, while the season also subverts the expectation with Francesca’s original storyline and deviates slightly from the source material.
In her book, Francesca falls in love with a man after the death of her first husband, John Stirling (who was also introduced this season). However, this season, the creative team behind Bridgerton adapted Francesca’s story to allow a more modern perspective, alluding to her potential for a queer storyline in the future. Without spoiling too much, all I’ll say is Bridgerton as a whole is breaking boundaries in terms of representation, so I’m very excited to see where both characters’ stories go moving forward!
Conclusion
As a huge Bridgerton fan, I’m excited to see whose storyline they highlight next season! Will it be Benedict? Eloise? I guess we’ll have to just wait and see! While we still don’t know which Bridgerton sibling’s story will be centered next, showrunner Jess Brownell said in a recent interview that fans might have to wait until 2026 for the next installment. So, it might be time to go back and rewatch Bridgerton Season 3, Part 2, while we wait for the highly anticipated fourth season!
