Daily Devotion Friday | April 10, 2026
Happy Friday! It’s time for your daily devotion. One of the most iconic and powerful scriptures in the Bible is Isaiah 53:5. It reveals that Jesus bore the punishment for your sins, and it’s proof of His great love for you. In today’s daily devotion, Jesus gave His life not only to free you spiritually but also physically.
God’s New Covenant
Isaiah prophesied that Jesus would be wounded, bruised, and chastised; the gospels record the horrible account. Yet He considered you worthy to die for. In John 12:24, Jesus declares, “Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” Jesus knew His death would give others life. It provided a new covenant, for Hebrews 9:16 says that a testament requires the death of the testator. In your daily devotion, you now have full rights and privileges to a new covenant.
An Offering For Sin
The Roman soldiers scourged Jesus with a flagrum, a whip with leather thongs interwoven with metal balls, bone fragments, sharp hooks, and lead weights. According to Jewish law, punishment could not exceed forty stripes, but the Romans administered Jesus’ lashes, and they didn’t adhere to Jewish standards. In Roman hands, scourging had no limits; it was meant to severely weaken Jesus so that death on the cross would come more quickly. In this daily devotion, Isaiah 53:10 declares that it “pleased the Lord to bruise him,” making His soul an offering for sin.
The Right Hand of God

The pain and brutality Jesus endured are incomprehensible. Nevertheless, it was not without gain. His sacrifice opened the way for your reconciliation with God. You’re now forgiven and redeemed from sin. His death gives you eternal life. You have a new covenant based on God’s grace, not commandments. All of God’s promises are included in your salvation. And not only did you gain, but Scripture declares that Jesus has been highly exalted; 1 Peter 3:22 proclaims that He is seated “on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.”
Now at the Father’s right hand, He is making intercession for you. In John 14:13, Jesus instructs His disciples to petition the Father in His name, saying in verse 14, “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” Believers ask in faith according to God’s will, as faith begins where God’s will is known. When you walk in obedience to God’s word, believe for what He has made available in Christ. In this daily devotion, declare that you will receive all God’s word promises to you.
The Will of His Father
Jesus came into the world to do the will of His Father, and His earthly ministry was threefold. According to Matthew 4:23, Jesus traveled throughout Galilee preaching, teaching, and healing. Therefore, it is God’s will that you are healed; Isaiah 5:35 decrees that “with his stripes we are healed.” As a believer, it’s God’s will that you walk in health and wholeness. In your daily devotion, realize it would be impossible to do so with sickness impeding your ability.
Christ is Your Healer
In Friday’s daily devotion, God has made it clear throughout Scripture that health is His will. In Exodus 15:16, He declares, “ I am the Lord that healeth thee.” You’ve been made complete in Christ, the head of all power and principality, and all you need is in Him. When you walk in God’s will, Jesus’ stripes provide access to your healing.
