Daily Devotion Monday Motivation | February 9, 2026
Happy Monday! It’s time for your daily devotion. Throughout the Bible, some are called by God for a specific assignment. The Sovereign God chooses individuals before birth, but some initially resist the call. In today’s daily devotion, God endows people with gifts, skills, and talents to do what He has purposed in His will.
Divine Destiny
Looking at Moses’ life, a divine destiny is written all over it. Pharaoh notices Hebrew women are multiplying so fast that he fears an uprising. So in Exodus 1:22, “Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river.” He even commands Hebrew midwives to destroy male babies at birth. Against this backdrop, Moses is born, and soon after, his mother notices something special about him and hides him for three months.
Then she puts him in a basket, places him in the Nile River, and has his sister watch to see what happens. Pharaoh’s daughter finds the basket, sees it’s a Hebrew child, but receives him as her own. Hence, Moses grew up in the house of Pharaoh. In your daily devotion, notice when God has a calling on your life, He will put you in places to prepare you.
The Burning Bush

As an adult, Moses is aware of his heritage and kills an Egyptian when he sees him abusing a Hebrew slave. Then Moses runs away, escaping punishment. He settles in Midian and marries a daughter of Reuel, priest of Midian. During this time, the pharaoh dies, and the children of Israel continue suffering in bondage. God hears their cries.
Moses is living comfortably as a shepherd, but it’s time for God’s purpose to be revealed. God appears to Moses in a burning bush. When Moses approaches it, God begins to speak. In this daily devotion, know that God knows where you are and how to get your attention.
Assignment Revealed
In Exodus 3:11, God tells Moses to go back to Egypt, confront Pharaoh, and deliver His people from bondage. Moses reacts with uncertainty: “ Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?” Undeterred, God gives Moses instructions on speaking to the children of Israel and gathering the elders together, assuring him that He will be with him.
Nonetheless, in Exodus 4:1, Moses continues balking: “They will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice.” In today’s daily devotion, realize God knows the end from the beginning, and has already gone ahead of you before he called you.
Moses Surrenders
Then God gives Moses power to do miraculous acts to show that God is with him. Again, he opposes. In verse 10, he cries, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.” God, now displeased, tells Moses that He will be with him and direct his speech, but Moses still isn’t on board.
In verse 13, he pleads, “O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.” In other words, “Lord, please send someone else!” God’s anger flares against Moses, yet He allows Aaron, Moses brother, to be his mouthpiece. Moses then submits. In your daily devotion, determine that when God calls you, your answer will be yes.
Makes No Mistakes
In Monday’s daily devotion, know that God calls and equips you for service according to His divine will. There’s no need to resist; He has made no mistake choosing you. Trust that your Sovereign God has the best plan for your life.
