Daily Devotion Thursday Thoughts with Total Apex Media | December 25, 2025
Merry Christmas! Let’s celebrate Christ in today’s daily devotion. As Solomon continues teaching his father’s words, he recalls a moving moment in David’s speech. David assures him that Wisdom will not leave him; she will always be by his side. In verse 12, he repeats David’s words:
12 When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
In today’s daily devotion, rejoice that wisdom will stay by your side forever.
When You Walk
Solomon quotes David saying, “When thou goest,” or as you go about your life. Other translations render it “when you walk,” referring to your lifestyle. Like David admonished Solomon, determine to listen to wisdom and stay firmly planted in the word of God.
Psalm 119:9 says, “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.” David knew that the word of God was to be Solomon’s reference point, causing him to walk steadily. Sometimes, when others get off track, it’s easy to think that living righteously may not be doable. But never compare yourself to others or measure yourself by their standards. Be led by the word of God, and you’ll stay firmly planted on a solid foundation.
In your daily devotion, acknowledge that Jesus is the Word made flesh, and when you follow Him, you will walk in righteousness.
Your Steps Won’t Be Straitened
Some things in life will try to hinder your walk with Christ. There will be temptations along the way that seem innocent, but they’re part of the enemy’s scheme to overturn your faith. David took a national census, which was outside God’s divine instructions and was motivated by David’s pride.
Afterwards, David realized he’d sinned. The prophet, led by God, appeared and gave him two choices of punishment. 2 Samuel 24:14 records this: “David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the Lord; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.”
David knew the peril of being in a tight place because of his actions. He didn’t want Solomon to end up on that road. In this Christmas daily devotion, commit to staying true to God’s Son and the wisdom you receive from His words.
When You Run
When your steps are firm in the word of God, your integrity leads you. David knew that wisdom and integrity would honor Solomon more than a crown and a scepter. He knew that Solomon would experience challenges that only wisdom could deliver him from.
When Solomon became king, his first judgment was to distinguish the true mother of a child. Two women appeared before him, claiming the other woman’s child had died, and the living baby was theirs. Solomon commanded that the baby be cut in two. Then each woman would have half. One woman thought it was a great decision, while the other became distraught to see the child harmed. Solomon judged the true mother to be the one who cared about the child’s life.
You Will Not Stumble
David knew that if Solomon held fast to wisdom, he would not stumble or fall into evil. And Solomon knew that wisdom would be a firm foundation for his children as well. Praise God in Thursday’s daily devotion that you won’t stumble into darkness if you walk in wisdom and obedience to God’s word.
Final Word
On this Christmas Day’s daily devotion, take time to honor and celebrate Jesus, the Word made flesh, who came to give us life, righteousness, and wisdom.
