Daily Devotional: Feel Good Friday Thoughts with Total Apex Media | October 3, 2025

It’s another feel-good Friday, and time for daily devotion. It’s important to know that the body of Christ is one family. It’s easy to lose sight of that with so many different religions, denominations, and faith groups. However, Jesus’ last prayer with His disciples was that we be one, just as He and the Father are one.

When someone passes, it’s easy to think, well, they’re gone now, and my family is who’s left on earth. Albeit, Paul says something interesting in Ephesians 3:14-15:

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

When I read this recently, I thought of the once-popular song, “We Are Family.” The next line is “I’ve got all my sisters with me.” In this case, we’d say, “I’ve got my whole family with me.” Because as Christians, our family extends to all believers past, present, and future. In today’s daily devotion, thank God that you’re a part of God’s family.

Prayer is intentional; it’s never random. Paul begins his line with “For this cause.” There is a cause or reason for his prayer. As their spiritual father, he prays for their spiritual growth as a collective body. He prays earnestly that God’s might would strengthen them. Like Paul, we should be praying for he whole body. Extend your prayers to family who are outside your proximity.

God’s whole family is spread throughout the world; some you’ll never meet on earth. However, pray that the entire body be strengthened with God’s power to do the work God called them to do. In your daily devotion, begin praying intentionally for the whole family.

I Bow my Knees

Paul makes supplication to the Father on behalf of the believers. With all humility and deep spiritual longing, he bows to his knees. This is not a quick, instant prayer, but Paul is willing to intercede on their behalf. He wants God to give them a revelatory knowledge of Christ’s love and to be filled with God’s fullness. He’s not praying with a hit-or-miss attitude. He’s led by the Holy Spirit and praying in faith.

Praise God in your daily devotion that when you pray for your family, your prayers are with faith or expectancy.

Father of Jesus

He identifies God as the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Throughout the Bible, God was identified with His people. In the Old Testament, He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In the New Testament, believers are called sons of God in Galatians 4:6. Therefore, He is our  Abba Father. Paul refers to Him as the Father of our Lord Jesus, and the Father of whom the family in heaven and earth are named.

In today’s daily devotion, call Him Abba Father, an Arabic name that speaks of intimacy and trust.

Whole Family

Paul is praying to God, the Father of the entire family of believers, including those in heaven. In His omniscience, God knows the family yet to be born. So we are to pray for generations to come. They will one day take the baton and run with it as we are now. Those who have gone before us are part of the great cloud of witnesses that pray for us and cheer us on.

In our daily devotion, thank God that our Heavenly family is cheering from the great grandstand above. Let’s continue to cheer on other believers as we run our race together.

Final Word

We are family! Let’s be “one” as Jesus prayed we be. Prayer knows no distance. It isn’t hindered by time or space. Your denomination, cultural identity, or group affiliation doesn’t matter. If Jesus Christ is your Lord, then God is your Father, and you’re part of His whole family that’s in heaven and on earth. In today’s daily devotion, celebrate because you’ve got all your family with you.
