Daily Devotion: Feel Good Friday Thoughts with Total Apex Media | October 17, 2025

It’s Friday, and time for your daily devotion. This is the last day of our series on Psalm 91. We’ve been examining God as our Protector, Deliverer, and Refuge. This powerful psalm concludes with another promise added along with God’s protection. Let’s examine verses 13-16.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

In your daily devotion, thank God for His protection and deliverance at all times.

You Will Tread

God protected the Israelites throughout their journey from the dangerous wild beasts and venomous snakes in the wilderness. The lion, adder, young lion, and dragon represent the hazards, dangers, and threats that surrounded their journey. In 1 Peter 5:8, Satan is compared to a roaring lion who seeks to devour you. In today’s daily devotion, recognize that he’s not a lion, but he’s as one.

He roars in hopes you’ll be afraid. In the garden, he manifested as a snake or adder. The young lion and dragon, or serpent in Hebrew, represent further threats, evil forces, and demonic activity assailed against God’s people.  But notice the three words “thou shalt tread.” God’s people could walk through, over, and around them. They could trample on them, crushing them without fear.

When Daniel was in the lions’ den, God commanded the lions not to harm him. In today’s daily devotion, know that you have authority in Christ to speak His name and tread over the devil and his demons. And Luke 10:19 says that “nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

His Love

God’s great love has been extended to you, not because of anything you’ve done. Scripture tells us God is love. His lovingkindness is what draws us to Himself. God’s love is unconditional. There’s nothing you can do to change it. But to know God’s love is to be changed by it. Because of His love, He delivers you from dangers seen and unseen, just like He delivered His people in the wilderness.

Take a moment in your daily devotion to worship the God who is love.

Call Upon Him

In Jeremiah 33:3, God says, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee.” And in Isaiah 65:24, he says, “Before they call, I will answer.” God desires that you call upon Him. He promises to answer. Sometimes, He answers through His word. It may come by the Holy Spirit or through a pastor or minister. There are many ways that God can answer. You must stay open to receive.

God promises to be with you in trouble. Someone recently testified that the doctors revealed her heart was only operating by a small percentage. She was near death’s door, but when she called on the Lord, God completely changed the prognosis to the amazement of the doctors. Praise God in today’s daily devotion that He’s your Healer and Deliverer.

God honors us, meaning He considers us of value and worth. In Matthew 10:31, Jesus speaks of our value to God. In 1 Peter 2:9, we’re called chosen, royal, and holy unto Him.

Long Life

God promises you a long life. And you won’t just survive, but you’ll thrive. God wants you to live blessed in every area, walking in the promises of God. Long life signifies favor, health, and prosperity. Moses had the health and strength of a young man when he died at the age of 120. Rejoice in the Lord in today’s daily devotion, because He has promised to keep you, giving you long life.

Final Word

In this Friday’s daily devotion, take a moment to meditate and look back at how God promises to protect you. You can tread on evil forces and call upon Him at all times because He loves you. And He has promised to deliver you and give you a long life. You can’t desire anything greater from such a great God, who is your Protector, Fortress, Refuge, and Deliverer.
