Daily Devotional Thursday Thankful Thoughts with Total Apex Media | 28 August 25
On this Thankful Thursday, for our daily devotion, we can all reflect on things we’re thankful for. Whether big or small, there are things in our lives we should celebrate. When we’re grateful for people and things that bring us joy, it gives us peace of mind. It makes life’s problems seem far away. According to Psychology Today, studies reveal that physical and psychological health improve through thankfulness. Gratitude makes us more empathetic. It lessens aggression toward others. Being grateful improves sleep, mental strength, and self-esteem. So, gratefulness is more than just a good idea.  It helps us stay healthier and calmer.
Seize The Day

Think of all the stress you can eradicate by not giving in to negative emotions. Being angry and grateful at the same time is difficult. Negative emotions lead to more negativity. Positive emotions, such as gratefulness, lead to joy and peace. So, embrace this Thursday’s daily devotion by practicing gratefulness if you have not already done so. Be thankful for your family, friends, job, health, and more.
These areas of your life may not be perfect, but dwelling on negativity will not improve them. It will only make things worse. Thankfulness, on the other hand, changes your day and your world. Put thankfulness into practice. Make it part of your daily devotion. Smile at people today and thank them for something they’ve done or what they bring to you personally or professionally. It will brighten their day and yours as well.
Give and You Will Receive
When others know you’re thankful for their friendship, support, or camaraderie, you positively impact them, and it creates a rippling effect. They could go on to positively affect another person’s day as well. The scriptural adage “It is more blessed to give than to receive” is true.
When giving compliments, thanks, or positive advice to others, you temporarily forget things going wrong in your life. Your feel-good hormones, like dopamine and serotonin, are released. Then these chemicals that affect your mood start flowing through your body, producing feelings of happiness and satisfaction. So, not only is thankfulness a good idea, but it has been scientifically proven to benefit you mentally and emotionally as well.
Give Despite Objections

There will always be downers in life; these are grumpy and bitter people who’ll make objections or complain about your giving. There was a mother who had 8 children, and even though her family faced financial challenges, she desired to make each child’s birthday special. So, each year she’d plan a nice day for them, which included a gift, something she knew they would enjoy. Her husband, on the other hand, had different ideas on how to spend his money.
Anything that had to do with golf, he was willing to purchase; however, when it came to his children, he would say, “My father never gave me anything!” Needless to say, he contributed nothing to his children’s birthdays. As time went on, a wedge was created between him and his children. Sadly, he became sick, and none of his children would come to help him.
Think of all the enjoyment he missed out on because he refused to give. There’s a spiritual law that says whatever you sow, you reap. In other words, what you give to others comes back to you. In your daily devotion, thank God for a giving heart that wants to bless others.
Final Thoughts
Let’s conclude this daily devotion with a short prayer: Lord, we thank You for this beautiful Thursday. It’s nearly the end of a work week, but it signals the beginning of a weekend that we look forward to. We’re thankful for the people that we share this day with: family, friends, and co-workers.
Teach us to be grateful for everything You provide, and mindful to give joyfully to others. We will give despite opposition. And we will continue being thankful at all times. Amen.
