No stranger to the spotlight, Marley is melodically continuing his family’s legacy with his dreamy, mid-tempo jam, “Close”.

Released on October 25, 2024, the song marks Marley’s first release since 2022. The blissful track is a modern reinterpretation that pays homage to Maxi Priest’s 1990 hit “Close to You”. Interpolating its iconic hook, the Kingston, Jamaica native additionally blends smooth, reggae vibes with contemporary dance, pop, and R&B elements.

Produced by Rykeyz, “Close” features nostalgic, romantic lyrics, where Marley reminisces about connection and intimacy. Through the song’s smooth rhythmic pattern, he achieves his goals both personally and symbolically. A slight departure from his usual sound, the song marks a new chapter in Marley’s artistry. While expressing his creative freedom, he also respects his reggae heritage. The accompanying music video, directed by Gabriella Kingsley, premiered on BET Soul.
