Popular Female Rapper GloRilla Arrested on Felony Drug and DUI Charges
The Memphis-born rapper GloRilla- real name Gloria Woods- turned herself in and was booked Tuesday into the Forsyth County jail in the Atlanta area on charges of Felony in Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Schedule on controlled substance. She was released on a $22,260 bond the same day. The investigation began Saturday, when Forsyth County deputies responded to a burglary in progress at her Atlanta-area home.
GloRilla’s Run-In With the Law
Someone inside the home shot at the suspects, who fled, the Sheriff’s department said. While on scene, deputies detected a strong odor consistent with illegal narcotics, authorities said. They obtained a search warrant and allegedly found a significant amount of marijuana inside a bedroom closet. Meanwhile, GloRilla’s attorney responded to WREG, saying she was victimized by the burglars, who have not been brought to justice. GloRilla said on X that her house was invaded on Saturday while she was performing for the Women’s NBA All-Star Game. GloRilla stated:

In April 2024, GloRilla was arrested on DUI charges near Atlanta. She has made several donations to Memphis schools she attended, and the Melrose High School Library is named in her honor. Memphis-Shelby County Schools sponsored a ticket giveaway to Friday’s concert for students. The Glo Bash concert set for Friday in Memphis is apparently still on.

GloRilla is a Memphis born rapper who is know for tracks like F.N.F (Let’s Go), TGIF, and Anyways, Life’s Great. She has become one of the industry’s most promising voices, as per the Associated Press. Her songs have broken into the Billboard Top 50 on a few occasions. GloRilla released her first mixtape in 2019. The 25-year-old is related to Cardi B and Lil Uzi Vert-they are her cousins.
The Grammy-nominated artist first became a household name in 2022 with her track F.N.F (Let’s Go), Sporting News reported. The song landed GloRilla her first Grammy nomination as well. Since then, she has released hits like Anyways, Life’s Great, TGIF and Whatchu Kno About Me.
