Jerry O’Connell, 51, and John Stamos, 62, Just Ended Their Legendary Decades-Long Feud

It’s a moment that we can be thankful for – in a move absolutely no one had on their 2025 bingo card, Jerry O’Connell and John Stamos have officially buried the hatchet. The two actors, who have been locked in a quiet but tense feud for years over their shared connection to actress and model Rebecca Romijn, finally put all the drama to rest. And they did it in the most Hollywood way possible: with a smiling selfie at a star-studded birthday bash. Because, why not?

Howie Mandel’s Bday Bash

The epic moment of reconciliation went down at Howie Mandel’s lavish 70th birthday party. O’Connell, never one to miss a beat, seized the opportunity and posted a cheerful photo featuring himself, Stamos, and Stamos’s current wife, Caitlin McHugh. Proving that he’s the master of the witty caption, O’Connell wrote: “Gorgeous fam and gorgeous people.” But it was his follow-up joke that truly broke the internet, drawing a wild parallel to other famous rivalries: “First @zohrankmamdani and @realdonaldtrump Then me and @johnstamos You are up @russian_kremlin & zelenskyy_official.”

Jerry O’Connell and John Stamos’s Feud: How Did It All Start?

So, why all the bad blood? The (most recent) drama traces back to Stamos’s 2023 memoir, “If You Would Have Told Me,” where he got brutally honest about his marriage to Romijn, which lasted from 1998 to 2005. Stamos confessed to feeling “emasculated” as Romijn’s career skyrocketed while his own seemed to stagnate. Stamos wrote:

“As I’m lifting Rebecca up, I’m losing myself… She makes it clear that I’m the TV guy and she’s the newly minted star… Somewhere deep inside, I start to believe it.”

The Timing is a Little Suspect

Jerry O’Connell net Rebecca Romijn while she was still technically married to John Stamos. This was in 2004 at a Maxim Hot 100 bash. O’Connell told People magazine about how the two immediately clicked. He said they clicked from “day one.” O’Connell has always been firm that “no shenanigans happened” during that time. Still, the timeline was close enough to fuel the tabloids for years.

When the memoir dropped, Romijn admitted she was “blindsided” and “incredibly shocked” by Stamos’s candid recollections. O’Connell, ever the supportive husband, didn’t hold back his own jab, quipping to TMZ, “People gotta make a living, I guess.”

Stamos, for his part, had been remarkably open about the bitterness he felt after the divorce, once telling People magazine, “In my mind back then, she was the Devil, and I just hated her. I couldn’t believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life.” He described the split as “shattering.” It was only through his work in Alcoholics Anonymous that he gained a new perspective, later admitting, “Oh, she wasn’t the Devil. Maybe I was as much to blame as her.” Revolutionary.

A Hollywood Ending for a Bitter Rivalry

The public reaction to the reconciliation has been nothing short of explosive. Birthday boy Howie Mandel (of course) took credit, commenting under O’Connell’s post, “This is what I do. I bring people together. You’re welcome.” Many fans were equally delighted, with comments like, “Peace at last,” and “Oh Jerry, you’re tooooo funny. O’Connell & Stamos – like a buddy cop film.” The consensus was clear: everyone was loving this for them.

It’s a surprisingly mature and positive end to a long-simmering Hollyweird feud. For years, the narrative has been one of bitterness and unspoken tension. But now with one photo, O’Connell and Stamos have rewritten the script, proving that even in Hollywood, exes and their new partners can eventually find a way to just get along. It seems some feuds aren’t meant to last forever. We’re definitely thankful for that.
