For SNL’s 50th season’s finale, the show had Scarlett Johansson and musical guest Bad Bunny as cohosts. As with any SNL show, the bad puns and often dirty jokes were a-flyin’. It certainly was not lacking as current events were explored, usually poked with SNL’s brand of brutal humor. A few of the stars, including Scarlett, fought to not break character, making the skits that much more entertaining.
Scarlett Johansson’s December 2024 SNL Appearance
Viewers might remember Scarlett Johansson‘s reaction to Michael Che and Colin Jost’s skit this past December. Off color jokes, and Michael Che’s NSFW humor was on full display. Scarlett was regularly the recipient of Michael Che’s jokes, with Colin Jost (her husband) being a somewhat witting participant.
Race-related jokes, age-related punchlines, and wildly risqué remarks about lady parts were all in the mix. So, how did ScarJo (Scarlett Johansson) do upon her return to SNL this past Saturday?
Scarlett Johansson Slays SNL’s Skits
May 17th saw the return of confident and funny ScarJo. Scarlett was in multiple skits, including “Please Don’t Destroy” about being in a Newark-bound airplane, and “Local News Stories” making fun of well, everyone – and everything. Her opening monologue had the help of the full cast all singing song to a parody of Billy Joel’s ‘Piano Man.’
It’s important to note that in many interviews about her character from the Avengers franchise, Scarlett Johansson has received some sexist questions. Scarlett, being a consummate professional, has always answered them as fairly and politely as she can. There was a SNL skit this past Saturday entitled ‘TV Press Junket’’ where ScarJo and SNL cast member Bowen Yang hilariously clap back at these shallow and sexist interviews. It was a great moment.
Scarlett Johansson Plus SNL Equals More, Please
The verdict on the SNL 50th season finale? It was funny, Scarlett Johansson knocked it out of the park, Bad Bunny was great, and the cast did a fantastic job of making fun of all the current happenings. Scarlett blended perfectly with the cast (especially with hubby Colin Jost). Scarlett Johansson has joined SNL seven times, and we definitely hope to see her host more in the future.
