As per usual, Riot Phroxon announced the specific numbers behind the buffs and nerfs a day after posting who is receiving changes. A reminder that Riot is trying to buff niche builds and strategies to bring more variety to League. The patches will also be lighter as they focus on adding more smurf and bad behavior detections in the game. Players can expect more extensive patches as we move towards the World Championship in China.

Riot Aims to Buff Niche League of Legends Strategies in 15.7

Thoughts

How the changes to niche strategies and builds will play out is difficult to predict. If they bring more diversity and fun to League of Legends, that is an overall win for the patch. As for the other buffs, most of them are small changes that should not have a significant impact on the game balance. The nerfs are where the meta might shift, with Gwen, Singed, and Rumble all taking hits in the top lane. Master Yi nerfs affect the lower tier of League, where numbers are not as vital as in the upper echelon.
