Rick and Morty 8×06 Presents Outstanding Father-Daughter Growth

Rick and Morty

The newest episode of Rick and Morty is out, and it makes series history! The main story centers on the two Beths coming together while the family is away. But instead of resorting to inappropriate intimacy like last time, they turn themselves into children. It isn’t long until things become a mix of The Hunger Games and Home Alone. The episode’s events reach their peak once Rick arrives to confront his daughters. However, would you believe it didn’t end in a massive bloodbath surrounded by fire?

Rick and Morty Presents Childish Chaos

This brand-new Rick and Morty installment opens with Beth and Space Beth being miserable. They decide to cheer themselves up by becoming 10-year-old girls with a special age chamber. For fun, they terrorize their neighbor before leaving him to die in a house fire. And it isn’t long until the pint-sized psychos turn against each other. Meanwhile, Rick takes the rest of the family to an Earth-themed Disneyland-esque park for aliens. They soon discover a dark secret involving the park’s creator and mascots.

Rick and His Daughters Grow Closer

Later in the episode, Rick returns home after intercepting a 9-1-1 call. His de-aged daughters manage to trap and age him into a shriveled elder. They proceed to beat him while venting their issues regarding him. This action leads Rick to admit that he’s proud of the Beths. Afterward, they share a loving embrace before all three return to their rightful ages.

This moment signifies a critical turning point in Rick’s relationship with the Beths. He admitted, in his way, that he loves the girls. And they received closure for their daddy issues while discovering what they mean to him. The tension between the trio seems to have disappeared, or at least lessened. Let’s hope it stays instead of resetting in a future episode.

Final Verdict and Thoughts

I’m happy to announce that this Rick and Morty installment is another perfect 10 recipient! There’s plenty of the show’s traditional action and dark humor, with some surprise character development. It was also a treat to hear Danny DeVito and Kate Micucci portray some characters.. And I must give Coraline Butterworth props for her portrayal of the young Beths. Above all, I’m interested to see how Rick and Beth’s new relationship affects things. We may find out when the next Season 8 episode premieres this Sunday.
