Daily Devotional For Tuesday Thoughts with Total Apex Media | December 30, 2025

Itโ€™s Tuesdayโ€™s daily devotion, and time to continue our discussion on avoidance. Part of the believerโ€™s journey is avoiding evil. Solomon gives you insight into just how to do that:

15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

In this daily devotion, recognize that life isnโ€™t all about what you accept, but also what you avoid.

Avoid It

In four short phrases, Solomon sums up what will keep you on the right path. Matthew 7:13 says that โ€œfor wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction.โ€ The evil path is the widest and most crowded path because most choose it. Why? Itโ€™s easier. You donโ€™t have to observe Godโ€™s word. You can do your own thing. You can make your own rules. However, Solomon warns you to avoid this path. It may seem tempting, but the result is devastation.ย

Avoid means to dodge, evade, or bypass. Youโ€™re not interested in taking the bull by the horns; you don’t want them. In Proverbs 1:28, Wisdom issues a stern warning: โ€œThen shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me.โ€ In your daily devotion, keep in mind that those who shun Wisdom will be denied Wisdomโ€™s help in their time of need.

Pass Not By It

Itโ€™s more than avoiding and has an additional depth. Here, youโ€™re warned not to even pass by the evil path or go in its vicinity. When you intentionally donโ€™t allow the evil path to offer its allurements, you keep it out of your sight. When people arenโ€™t quite ready to give up something or someone, theyโ€™ll continue to entertain them. Theyโ€™ll make room for them and maintain a relationship. In this daily devotion, know that when you decide that certain things no longer suit your purpose, you wonโ€™t even pass by them.ย ย

Turn From It

โ€œTurnโ€ is an interesting word because it means to repent. When you repent, youโ€™re not just admitting guilt and feeling sorry that you violated Godโ€™s divine law. But you pivot or do a complete 360, and turn from the violation and toward God. Your mind changes, and you come into agreement with God about your breach of conduct. When you turn, you no longer have the desire for what caused the breach, but you have a new attitude or perspective. In Tuesdayโ€™s daily devotion, say this out loud: โ€œI have a new attitude which places Godโ€™s word on the highest standard.โ€ย

Pass Away

Once youโ€™ve avoided it, passed not by it, and turned from it, itโ€™s time to pass away from it. It no longer crosses your mind or occupies your thoughts. You donโ€™t entertain what-ifs or would-haves or should-haves. The Bible says that he who the Son sets free is free indeed. So there are no traces of the thing that perhaps was once difficult to walk away from.

Passing away from something is leaving it completely behind. In Philippians 3:14, Paul declares that he is โ€œforgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.โ€ This is a great example. Paul’s new focus causes him to press further into God. In your daily devotion, recognize that your new perspective helps you to pass away from evil.ย

In Closing

In todayโ€™s daily devotion, Solomon includes a blueprint for avoiding the destructiveness of the evil path. He warns you to avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. You must stay on the righteous path by avoiding the evil one.
