Daily Devotion Wednesday Wisdom │ January 7, 2026
Happy Wednesday. It’s time for your daily devotion. Solomon makes a profound statement about the value of wise words. He says they give life and health. In verse 22, he says, “For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” In your daily devotion, know that God’s wisdom is a life-giving stream that invigorates your soul and body.
For They Are Life
Everyone is interested in having the best life; some seek it through natural means. Proverbs has the blueprint for life, and it lies in wisdom. Adhering to God’s word puts you on the pathway of life and wholeness.
Solomon dispensed wisdom with over 3000 proverbs, and Jesus, the Light of the World, gives new life. In today’s daily devotion, know that Jesus says in John 10:10, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Unto Those Who Find Them
Wisdom isn’t hidden, but it must be sought. And those who seek, find. Jeremiah 29:13 says, “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” In Amos 5:4, God says to seek Him, and you’ll live. Scripture also shows God as a seeker in Ezekiel 34:11: For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out. And Luke 19:10 says that Jesus came to seek and save the lost.
Proverbs 8 teaches that wisdom is more valuable than gold, silver, and precious stones. In the Parable of the Hidden Treasure, a man finds treasure hidden in a field. He then covers it back up, sells everything, and buys the field. In this daily devotion, declare that you value the instruction that leads to wisdom.
Health To All

Solomon proclaims that wisdom is health to your flesh. Having God’s word in your heart affects every part of your body. God’s word isn’t just life to your spirit; it breathes life into your flesh. God is the Source of Life, and He affirms in Exodus 15:26, “I am the Lord that healeth thee.” And in Psalms 107:20, it says, “He sent his word, and healed them.”
Many question if healing is God’s will, but when Jesus began His earthly ministry, He went throughout Galilee “healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people,” according to Matthew 4:23. In John 6:38 Jesus says, “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” In today’s daily devotion, thank God that Jesus showed us the Father’s will by healing the multitudes.
Their Flesh
If you’re saved, you have the Spirit of God dwelling within you. Therefore, you’re connected to God through your spirit. However, your flesh is carnal or worldly. You don’t connect to God through your flesh. Yet, you belong to God, spirit, soul, and body.
Hosea, the prophet, is instructed by God to marry a prostitute. She represents Israel, which was utterly unfaithful to God. Gomer forsook her vows, went back into prostitution, and wound up on the seller’s block to be sold to the highest bidder. In this daily devotion, see Christ as your Redeemer, just as Hosea redeems Gomer, restoring her completely to himself.
Walk in Your Healing
With God’s word, you can walk in full confidence. Your faith in God and His word must be unwavering. Don’t complicate it with religious doctrine and jargon that pull you away from the truth. In today’s daily devotion, trust that God’s word is life and health to you.
