Daily Devotion Wednesday Wisdom with Total Apex Media | December 17, 2025

It’s Wednesday, and time for your daily devotion. Solomon continues to quote David, who taught him to seek wisdom and understanding. In verse 6, Solomon honors David’s words of wisdom by imparting them to his children:

6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

In today’s daily devotion, learn to keep Wisdom close at hand.

Forsake Her Not

David teaches Solomon to treasure words of wisdom. In verse 5, he says to “forget it not,” and also not to “decline from” his words. Wisdom is not to be forgotten, for she is priceless. In David’s infamous sin, he forsook the righteous path and strayed into darkness. As a result, evil entered his home and disrupted his family. He knew the importance of not forsaking wisdom.

Sometimes, trouble can be the catalyst for choosing wisdom. However, you can make wise choices without experiencing catastrophe from forsaking God’s word. Wisdom offers herself to anyone who will listen and take heed. In your daily devotion, know that Wisdom will not fail you, and you must not forsake her.

She Shall Preserve Thee

Wisdom doesn’t only not forsake you, but she will preserve you. She will keep, maintain, and strengthen you. What wisdom offers is irreplaceable. There is nothing in life that will serve you better than wisdom. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God.”  You are to ask for wisdom as well as take heed to instruction, wise counsel, and God’s word. In this daily devotion, rejoice that God desires you to be wise, and he has put fathers, teachers, and spiritual leaders in your life to preserve you.

Love Her

Solomon tells his children to love wisdom. He doesn’t imply a casual, insincere relationship, but one that they embrace with passion. In Scripture, some individuals served God and, as a result, walked in wisdom. God made Daniel “skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge.” He could interpret dreams and visions, which advanced him in the Babylonian kingdom.

Deborah was a judge whom God gave wisdom to bring the nation victory, and Abigail stopped much bloodshed to preserve the lives of her household. God’s wisdom gave Joseph the ability to interpret Pharaoh’s dreams. In Genesis 41:16, Joseph admits that “It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.”

In your daily devotion, say this: To love God is to love wisdom because He is the giver of wisdom.”

She Shall Keep Thee

How will Wisdom keep you? She will keep you in the pathway of righteousness. She will keep you from straying away from God’s commandments. And she will keep you from the snares and pitfalls the enemy is plotting against you. The king of Syria became infuriated because his plans were constantly foiled by Elisha, who kept warning the King of Israel of his plots. As God’s prophet, Elisha was given wisdom to save Israel from defeat.

Wisdom keeps you from succumbing to the enemy’s traps as well. Wisdom directs you in all points, for Wisdom is the principal thing and more valuable than all the world’s riches. It would be disastrous to gain the world and lose your soul because you forsook wisdom. Rejoice in today’s daily devotion that Wisdom keeps you safe.

Final Word

In Wednesday’s daily devotion, hear the words of wisdom that Solomon delivers to his children. They are words taught to him by David, who was the gatekeeper of his son’s instruction. Say out loud that Wisdom is the Life-giving Source flowing from God’s throne to me!
