Ready or Not: Here I Come was a sequel no one saw coming! In the first film, the audience is introduced to a couple who marry one another. It seems like the story starts off light-hearted enough until the audience is jarred further along, only to find that Ready or Not is not such a sweet story. Anyone who’s seen the film knows how trippy the ending was—a plot twist nobody saw coming.
Ready or Not Full Recap
If you’ve seen Ready or Not, then you’ll know people are not ready for the end that really tripped you up, startling you. How can you be ready for a gory, over-the-top film? Ready or Not centers on the married couple, mostly the new bride of the groom. Was anyone expecting to see the bride of a groom chased all over a family mansion to be murdered by her suddenly new, and vile in-laws? Just when you think the main female lead will make her sweet escape, surviving the night, she’s reeled back in, being dragged back to the mansion.
In the face of things, we witness the groom of the bride fighting against his family’s inheritance of sacrificing someone, giving in to this vicious cycle of nature. Not only does the groom turn on the bride, but the bride comes to realize she won’t ever be able to trust her husband. Can anyone blame the bride for her trust issues? This entire movie makes you reconsider marriage entirely because you never truly know someone. The bride and groom going from loving one another to not loving one another, turning on each other, isn’t the only twist in Ready or Not.
Ready or Not Sequel Predictions
The sequel already appears to have a splendid cast of familiar faces, ranging from Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle, Elijah Wood, Néstor Carbonell, and more. Samara Weaving is even returning for her role as Grace, so that’s going to be nice to see where her story continues. Ready or Not is going to be a sequel that may just get more gory, if you’ve followed the original premise. There’s already a stellar cast who’ve acted in several things, including those who would accompany something like Ready or Not, real well. With Samara Weaving returning, we’re already aware that her story continues in the sequel, but will Grace survive?
Grace survived round one of Ready or Not. Will she be faced with more people who are out for blood? Or will the sacrifice have ended with the Le Domas family? Since we’re aware of the sequel, one thing’s for sure: more murder will ensue, more blood will be spilled, and more horror enthusiasts will be forever scarred. Given how good the horror genre has been resurgent lately, there’s no doubt the new cast called upon for Ready or Not: Here I Come will slay our safety nets.
Initial Thoughts
Ready or Not: Here I Come is something that will pull you in like it did with the first movie. It’s going to more than likely make the first film cry in shame, outgoing Ready or Not itself. We’ll probably be led to believe we’re safe to boot, then the plot will grip us and find a way to change our minds about everything we thought we knew regarding the movie. I would be surprised if Ready or Not: Here I Come tanked because the cast is top-notch, with no doubt the writing will outrank the first film. Hope not to be wrong, but here’s to seeing what the future holds for the sequel.
