Ranking All 8 Conjuring Movies From Best to Worst

Conjuring Movies

The Conjuring has been one of the most successful contemporary horror franchises. The Conjuring universe has dominated box offices and wormed its way into all of our dark, horror-loving hearts. Below, you will find all of the Conjuring movies ranked from best to worst.

The Curse of La Llorona (2019)

This tale is the Curse of La Llorona, and is rooted in Venezuelan folklore, and is used to scare children from multiple Hispanic countries into behaving appropriately and not staying out after dark. Saying her name continues to send chills down certain friends’ spines when she is talked about.

Annabelle (2014)

Annabelle was a Raggedy Ann doll that the Conjuring universe decided to spice things up a little with the terrifying depiction of the toy we see today. Her looks alone are enough for a horror film to skate by on, but Annabelle has no such luck. Annabelle was a huge box office success.

Annabelle Creation (2017)

This Annabelle is low on the ranking, but the film is a vast improvement over its predecessor. Even though this film doesn’t quite hit the spot of James Wan’s core offerings, it has a hard punch, enough to make you care about the story in a way that Annabelle failed.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is at its best when it’s focusing on the love that keeps the fictional Warrens strong, but even that feels like a cheap knockoff of what you see in the first two films. The silliest trick the devil ever tried to play was attempting to make viewers believe that Patrick Wilson was a feeble old man with a heart condition. Probably not the best in the Conjuring movies list.

The Nun (2018)

The Nun was one of the Conjuring movies, largely hated by consumers and critics alike. Valak was certainly one of the most terrifying monsters created out of the franchise, and is not a perfect film, but it is an enjoyable enough side story worth taking a look at.

Annabelle Comes Home (2019)

In another one of the Conjuring movies, Wilson and Farmiga return as the Warrens as they leave young Judy home with a babysitter. It turns out that when demonologist parents tell you not to play with the possessed doll in their mini museum, you should take heed of that!

The Conjuring (2013)

This is the one that started it all, and one of the most profitable horror films in history! It began with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga taking on the roles of Ed and Lorraine Warren in a little horror flick with a 20-million-dollar budget. Though the real Warrens were terrible people, Wilson and Farmiga bought a kind of endearment to their roles, and viewers fell in love with them.

The Conjuring 2(2016)

The last one of the Conjuring movies being discussed is The Conjuring 2. This film remains one of the most impressive horror films for its terrifying scares and sincere heart. This one cut deep because viewers’ love for the Warrens and their love for the people they’re trying to save shines through perfectly in a single scene. The spooks in this film are top-notch.
