Prince Harry is set to honor the legacy of his late mother, Princess Diana, during a series of engagements in New York City. He will go to a charity dinner, during which he will represent both the HALO Trust and the Diana Award. These organizations will also reflect Princess Diana’s interest in humanitarian concerns.
The Duke of Sussex’s visit, which is connected to key international meetings such as UN General Assembly High-Level Week and Climate Wee, demonstrates his ongoing commitment to the goals that his mother promoted. On the other hand, it remains unclear whether Prince William will attend the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, sparking speculation about the brothers’ possible meeting.
Celebrating Diana’s Achievement as a Humanitarian
On Monday, the Duke of Sussex will visit the HALO Trust, a charity organization that the late Princess Diana supported. She draws the world’s attention to the problem with her 1997 visit to an active minefield in Angola. Prince Harry is now 40 years of age and remains especially active in activities that were dear to his mother’s heart.
He will also represent the Diana Award, an organization where Diana believed in young people’s power to make change. His participation occurred during the UN General Assembly High-Level Week and Climate Week, something his mother had supported throughout her lifetime.

While he admits he can never “fill her shoes,” particularly in areas like her advocacy against landmines, Prince Harry has followed in her footsteps and walked through a minefield in Angola set up in 1997. Prince Harry will also engage in activities with African Parks; The Diana Award; and Travalyst during his New York trip, showing his commitment to the humanitarian cause.
The Archewell Foundation’s Role
In addition to these engagements, Prince Harry will continue efforts through The Archewell Foundation, a nonprofit he co-founded with his wife, Meghan Markle. The foundation focuses on global initiatives such as mental health, climate change, and social justice. Prince Harry previously expressed his responsibility to continue his mother’s legacy. In a 2022 podcast with former rugby player Gareth Thomas, he said, “Once you get to meet people and see the suffering around the world, I certainly can’t turn my back on that.”
