Scorpio season 2026 begins Oct. 23 and runs through Nov. 22, according to Astrostyle. Cafe Astrology lists Scorpio’s birthday range as Oct. 24 to Nov. 22, a one-day difference in where the sign’s start date falls. Either way, the Sun’s move into Scorpio this week sets off several weeks of astrological themes worth knowing about if you follow the zodiac, whether you’re a Scorpio or just want to understand what the season means for the charts around you.
If you want to approach Scorpio season 2026 the way astrology followers do, here’s a step-by-step guide to the dates, transits and themes in play, drawn from published forecasts.
Step 1: Know The Key Dates Leading Into Scorpio Season
The lead-up to Scorpio season actually started in September. Venus moved into Scorpio and Mercury into Libra on Sept. 10, according to Almanac.com. The Sun shifted into Libra on Sept. 22, marking the start of autumn, and Mercury moved into Scorpio on Sept. 30.
October brought more motion. Venus stationed retrograde in Scorpio on Oct. 3, according to Cosmopolitan, a transit Cafe Astrology says runs from Oct. 3 to Nov. 13 across Scorpio and Libra. The sun enters Scorpio on Oct. 23, and Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio the following day, Oct. 24.
Step 2: Understand What The Sun In Scorpio Is Believed To Bring
When the Sun moves into Scorpio, astrology followers believe people across the zodiac start craving deeper passion and reciprocity in their connections. That makes Scorpio season a natural point to reflect on which relationships feel mutual and which don’t.
Step 3: Factor In The Venus Retrograde Overlap
Scorpio season 2026 opens while Venus is still retrograde, a stretch that lasts from Oct. 3 to Nov. 13 in Scorpio and Libra. Venus retrograde in Scorpio is believed to surface unspoken power dynamics in relationships, along with themes of vulnerability and intimacy. For anyone preparing for the season, that means holding off on major relationship decisions until the retrograde clears in mid-November may be worth considering under this framework, since Mercury’s own retrograde in Scorpio starting Oct. 24 compounds the slow-down-and-reflect mood astrologers attach to this period.
Step 4: Check The Bigger 2026 Picture For Scorpio
Beyond the season itself, the year overall is one of travel, supportive routines and ancestral healing for Scorpio. The first half of 2026 is described as a powerful window for Scorpios to gain experience and update skills, with relationship goals potentially inspiring more self-discipline and fulfillment. Scorpios may want to lean toward spontaneity over strategy in love and relationships this year, a different approach than the sign’s typically calculated reputation.
Step 5: Track The Slower-Moving Planets Shaping The Year
Several longer transits frame the backdrop of Scorpio season 2026. Venus and Mars mingle in Capricorn until Jan. 17, a stretch tied to communication and local adventures. Jupiter is forecast to travel through Cancer and the ninth house of growth until June 30, then shift into Leo and the tenth house through July 26, 2027.
Saturn and Neptune converged in Aries starting early 2026, a pairing that affects approaches to wellness, productivity and purpose. Uranus returned to Gemini on April 25 for a seven-year run through the eighth house of money, power and sex, and the North Node settled into Aquarius on July 26, 2026, and remains there until March 26, 2028, where it activates the fourth house of home and family.
Common Mistakes To Avoid
Don’t confuse the two reported start dates for Scorpio season. Astrostyle marks Oct. 23 as the sun’s shift into Scorpio, while Cafe Astrology frames Scorpio birthdays as starting Oct. 24. Both agree the season closes Nov. 22.
Another mistake is ignoring the retrograde overlap. Making big relationship or financial calls between Oct. 23 and Nov. 13, while Venus is still retrograde, runs counter to the caution astrologers typically advise during that transit. Waiting until Mercury’s retrograde clears after Oct. 24 is also worth factoring in before locking down contracts, travel plans or big conversations, per the belief system’s usual guidance around retrogrades.
