Oriana Fallaci became famous both in Italy, where she was born, and internationally because of her openly emotional yet facts based journalism style. That, paired with her direct and constant political involvement, put her under the spotlight on many occasions, until her last publications ruffled the wrong feathers, and people started questioning her character and withdrawing from her.
She died of cancer on the 15th of September 2006, back in Italy.

It is impossible to approach Fallaci’s work without being also sucked into the turmoil of her life. From her early debut as a child reporter, helping her father pass around top secret information as a part of the Partisans movement, to her own political involvement that brought her to not only focus on the role of the military during the War in Lebanon in 1983, which resulted in the legendary and heart wrenching book “Insciallah.”
But, also to meet, marry, and defend the leader of the Greek revolution throughout a cinematic love story that captured the world’s attention in the ’70.
Her intensity pierces through every fiber of her discourse, life choices and narration, and the romance with Alekos Panagulis remains to these days a visible example of star crossed individuals who imperfectly loved each other, and who were also committed to each other’s salvation for the simple realities of who they were.
Oriana, Her Stars, and How Destiny Always Seemed to Show Up

As a part of our deep dive into celebrities and their natal charts, this one is for the curious and/or passionate about Italian history, as this analysis is going to bring us through some key real life plot twists.
Oriana was born in Florence, in June 1929, under the Sun sign of Pisces, the Moon sign of Aries, and the rising sign of Pisces, again.
- Sun sign in Pisces and the quest for higher meaning: Everything is transcended when it comes to Oriana Fallaci. A petty revenge on an ex becomes a revolutionary act of self affirmation, as the aura of romance is destroyed on purpose and abruptly, letters are sent to the wife, and the writer regains her freedom by destroying the character of her deceitful lover.
- War isn’t just war, but lenses to observe human interactions, how love can often become tragedy, and how enemies always end up seeing themselves in one another when it comes to seeing life as raw and as naked as it is. Everything moves everything. Personal pain becomes source for intellectual work, and almost rejected, in a sense, as she admits to herself multiple times (“maybe I didn’t want to feel jealousy”, “maybe I didn’t want to love you”).
- Moon in Aries, her violent passions, and becoming a dreamy and anchored warrior for truth: Oriana Fallaci Sun in Pisces can also be observed in the semi dreamy nature of her endeavors, symbolizing the almost perfect completion of a journalistic career well managed. And, as her locations seemed to always host key historical events, her attendance to them was so permeating, and her written voice so distinguishable, multiple books were published from those experiences.
- Let us remember her collaboration with NASA, as the moon was being explored, Houston would record the legendary yet stoic cry for help, and Fallaci would get pregnant from a married man about to be sent into deep space (what?). It’s a constant tension between her character and her shadow. Her iron like ethics, and her sudden coups-de-têtes and outbursts. And everything seems to find it’s balance and resolution into her work and her capacity to elaborate even the most complex and contradictory experiences as part of the human experience.

- Pisces rising and the sudden collapse: If you have familiarity with natal charts, you might know that the rising sign indicates the characteristics a person will benefit from the most later on in life. In Oriana’s case there’s a peculiar dynamic of coming full circle, cosmically speaking, where her rising sing also corresponds to her Sun sign.
- How can we observe and analyze this? First, we need to mention Oriana Fallaci’s last work, titled “The Rage and the Pride“, where she expresses herself in favor of many alt right narratives she had been rejecting since childhood. That controversy still locks her work in its own separate category: better not to approach without the proper disclaimers.
- So, how can the stars help us understand this better? To put it simply, they can’t. If we base our analysis on the standard description of a Pisces rising, increased calmness, tenderness, elusiveness and even mysticism should be observed. We can stretch the analysis and theorize about her final move being so strategic it would grant her perennial mystery, but it is also a bit preposterous and based on imagination alone.
- A more likely interpretation could come from Oriana’s total rejection of religion and spirituality, a choice that she defended until her last day, and that might have been one of the causes of her sudden loss of touch, health and peace.
