What Happened to Girlalala?
On the evening of Friday, November 14, Maurice Harrison, AKA Girlalala, was shot. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a medical call near Northwest 37th Street. They discovered Harrison in the passenger seat of a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the TikTok star was tragically pronounced dead.
Authorities quickly arrested 25-year-old Shanoyd Whyte Jr., who was at the scene. According to the sheriff’s office, Whyte Jr. told detectives he and Harrison had been involved in a relationship for several years. The two were allegedly in a verbal argument, which escalated into a physical altercation inside Whyte’s car. This ultimately led to the fatal shooting.
A firearm was recovered at the scene. Whyte Jr. is now facing a first-degree murder charge; he’s being held without bond. This senseless act has left friends, family, and fans struggling to comprehend how a promising and talented person‘s life could be cut short so tragically.

The grief extends far beyond those who knew Harrison personally. A GoFundMe page has been set up to cover funeral expenses. It quickly surpassed its goal, now raising over $28,000. The outpouring of support also included a significant $5,000 donation from rapper JT of the City Girls. In a touching tribute on Instagram, JT wrote:
