The Razzie Awards Nominations Announced – “Snow White” and “War of the Worlds” Claim Top Nominations
The Golden Raspberry Awards, or Razzie Awards, are the opposite of the Oscars, granting “awards” to what they consider to be the worst movies and performances of the year. Many see them as a joke, but they still get attention every year. The nominees for the 2026 Razzie Awards have been announced, so let’s see if the nominees are really worth caring about.
The Nominations for the 2026 Razzie Awards
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, two films tied for the most Razzie Award nominations. They are Disney’s infamous “Snow White” live-action remake and maligned adaptation of “War of the Worlds” starring Ice Cube, with six nominations each. “Snow White” currently has a 39% critic score and a 69% user score on Rotten Tomatoes, while “War of the Worlds” has a 4% critic score and a 20% user score.

So What Will Be the Worst Picture of the Year, And Should We Even Care?
The Razzie Awards are essentially a joke, as the nominations, “All Seven Artificial Dwarfs” and “The Weeknd and His Colossal Ego” show rather obviously. Many people don’t think they should even be acknowledged. Still, people have a morbid fascination with hated entertainment. So, what will likely win Worst Picture?
While “War of the Worlds” was heavily panned when it first game out, the public seems to have largely moved on from it. “Snow White,” however, remains infamous. Disney fans have used it as a poster child for everything wrong with Disney’s live-action remakes and why they should stop making them. So even though it has higher ratings on Rotten Tomatoes than “War of the Worlds,” it’s very likely that “Snow White” will take the Razzie Awards for Worst Picture and other categories.
The Razzie Awards “winners” will be announced on March 14th, which happens to be the day before the Oscars. While the Razzie Awards may be amusing, they aren’t worth investing much attention in. It’s also not worth getting upset if a movie you like is nominated. The Rassie Awards feed into the internet culture where if certain people declare something worthy of scorn, then no one should enjoy it. If you find some entertainment value in “Snow White,” “War of the Worlds,” or any of the nominated movies, then go ahead and enjoy them.
