Journee Mcgrew, 21, Accused of Murder Allegedly Left Note on Victim’s Chest
Journee McGrew, a Florida woman, was arrested on murder charges after she allegedly killed a man with a hammer and left a chilling note on his bloody body that read, ‘PEDO Touches Children’, in a green highlighter. The 21 year old, was arrested on July 2 after officers responded to reports of a dispute in an apartment complex in the Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Police arrived at the apartment just before 4 am and found a man dead in a pool of blood.
Chilling Crime Scene: Waduta Woodley Found Dead with Bloody Note and Hammer Nearby
The victim later identified as Waduta Woodley, 41, was lying in front of an apartment behind a stairwell, according to the arrest report. Large pools of blood were under the victim, and large amounts of blood were observed on the walls and ground,’ the report read. The chilling note was placed on top of the victim’s chest, and Woodley was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers also observed bloody footprints leading from the doorway to the bathroom and a metal hammer covered in blood in the bathroom sink.
Journee McGrew, claims the victim had been grooming her since she was 8 years old
Journee McGrew claimed the man she killed had been sexually grooming her since she was eight years old. Police interviewed McGrew’s father, who was identified in the report as Victor Owens Jr. They drove to McGrew’s apartment to check on her after she tried to call Owens Sr’s wife. The News and Observer reported on a phone call between Owens Sr. and his daughter while driving to her apartment. During the conversation, police say McGrew claimed Woodley came to her place and demanded that she have sex with him.
McGrew told her dad she said no to his demands, and claimed Woodley then grabbed her, prompting her to hit him with a hammer. Owens Sr. told police his daughter told him “I think he’s dead daddy.” McGrew’s dad told her to call the police, and then he called the cops himself. When interviewed by police, McGrew said Woodley had been sexually grooming her since she was an eight-year-old child. Journee McGrew was charged with second degree murder and tampering with evidence. It’s unclear whether she invited Woodley over with the intent to kill him.
