Immediately Don Lemon Fires Back at Nicki Minaj’s Homophobic Slur Following ICE Protest Coverage
Don Lemon has responded to rapper Nicki Minaj. Earlier this week, Minaj used a homophobic slur to explain her disgust with Lemon’s involvement with an ICE protest. In an interview with TMZ, the former CNN anchor did not hold back. He questions the Young Money rappers’ citizenship, her knowledge of politics and journalism, and he even brings up her husband’s shameful criminal record.
Don Lemon vs. Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj is known for starting Twitter feuds and making shady comments, but this time, the queen has met her match. Don Lemon’s response on TMZ starts off with how she disrespects African Americans and the LGBTQIA community, questioning why people are still supporting her music. Still, the juiciest part is when he mentions her citizenship and calls her ignorant and a bigot several times.
“I usually don’t respond to this stuff, but let me just say this,” Lemon said. “Nicki Minaj, stop talking about shit which you know nothing about. This is out of your depth, by the way. And you are a homophobic bigot. “You don’t care about African Americans, you’re not an African American. From what I know, you are reportedly an undocumented citizen, so you should be deported under Donald Trump’s rule.”
A Sharp, Unfiltered Reality Check
Don Lemon’s response continues with TMZ, noting that she would do anything to stay relevant, including talking about a subject she knows nothing about. “This is clearly out of her depth. She doesn’t understand politics. She doesn’t understand journalism. And I’m not surprised that she is weighing in on something that is beyond her capacity,” Lemon said.
Lemon continues with why Nicki Minaj is a “pick me.”
“A better symbol that should have been represented in that picture is a ‘Pick Me’ doll because Nicki Minaj is a pick me. She will do anything that is expedient for her politically. And again, she’s ignorant. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She’s always weighing in on things that she doesn’t know about. Nicki Minaj should just sit the fuck down.”
Last, he closes with talking about the “Super Bass” rapper husband Kenneth Petty is an “alleged pedophile”, and that maybe the reason she is actively supporting the President Trump administration to get her family member “some sort of lenient for leniency”. Then he signs off with “Nicki Miniaj F off, stop being a homophobic bigot, get a life and some brains.”
The Back-and-Forth Escalates Online
The TMZ Live is not the only time the independent journalist responded to Nicki Minaj, on his personal social media page, Lemon again ranted how she is a homophobic bigot who needs to shut up because she does not know what she is talking about. Again, question her citizenship and say that with a family member and husband, a pedophile and sex offender, she needs to stop worrying about what he is doing and ending telling black people and gay people not to buy her music.
Religion, Protest, and Online Outrage
The online beef started when the “Moment 4 Life” artist posted a Chucky doll picture on X, formerly known as Twitter, with the post saying, “DON ‘COCK SUCKIN LEMON”, “HOW DARE YOU? I WANT THAT THUG IN JAIL!!!!! HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO ANY OTHER RELIGION. LOCK HIM UP!!!!!
Minaj called out Don Lemon after he posted a livestream of an anti-ICE protest at a Minneapolis church. The protest took place when activists interrupted a Sunday service on January 18 at a church where the pastor is an ICE agent. Lemon is one of the many journalists who covered the ICE protest and interviewed citizens.
Minaj is upset that the protest happened at a Christian church and that if it were another religion, she believes it would not have happened. Recently, the Grammy-nominated rapper has spoken about the persecution of Christians in Nigeria, and this is what most likely prompted her outrage and brought up religion.
The Feud Isn’t Over Yet
Total Apex will be following the ping-pong between Lemon and Minaj. The “Right Thur Me” rapper is known for keeping a Twitter feud going for days. And if the Barbz are lucky, they might get a Don Lemon diss track.
