2025-2026 Awards Season: Full Dates for Oscars, Grammys, Guild, and Beyond

Cheers to Awards Season 2026
In January, the “Critics’ Choice Awards” and the “Golden Globe Awards” kick off the 2026 awards season. The “Critics’ Choice Awards”, “Golden Globe Awards”, “SAG Awards,” and “NAACP Image Awards” are award shows that present awards in a multitude of genres, including film, TV, digital, music, literature, and even podcasts.
“Critics’ Choice Awards
The “Critics’ Choice Awards” will premiere January 4 on E! and USA Network. The 2026 “Critics’ Choice Awards” host is Chelsea Handler, and the movie “Sinners” has the most nominations, with 17.
“Golden Globe Awards”
Next up is the “Golden Globe Awards” on January 11, 2026. Watch it on CBS and Paramount+. Hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, the Golden Globe Awards this year will also honor podcasts, alongside the best in movies and television.
“NAACP Image Awards”
BET and CBS will broadcast the “NAACP Image Awards” on February 28, 2026. The NAACP Image Award is an honor and recognition of people of color across all genres of entertainment, as well as a spotlight on activism for social injustice.
“SAG Awards,”
You can watch the Screen Actors Guild award show, also known as the “SAG Awards,” on Netflix on March 1. The nominees for the “SAG Awards” will be announced at the beginning of January. According to Netflix, “The Actor Awards has the largest voting body on the awards circuit and celebrates actors across 15 categories, including individual and ensemble performances of a motion picture, drama series, and comedy series.”
Film Awards Take Center Stage
The “Oscars”, BAFTA Film Awards, and the “Independent Spirit Awards” are the award shows that focus only on categories in the film industry during awards season.
“Independent Spirit Awards”
The “Independent Spirit Awards” will broadcast on February 15, 2026, on the Film Independent YouTube and IMDb channels. The Independent Spirit Awards host is former “Saturday Night Live” talent Ego Nwodim. The “Independent Spirit Awards” shine a spotlight on and honor achievements in the independent film industry.
“BAFTA Film Awards”
The “BAFTA Film Awards” award ceremony will run on the BBC One channel on February 22, 2026. This award season, add the “BAFTA Film Awards” to your watch list. The award show is nicknamed the British Oscar because it focuses on films from both the British and international film industries. Past winners include Leonardo DiCaprio and Ben Affleck.
“Oscars”
The grand night of awards season, the “Oscars” will air on March 15, 2026, on ABC. The “Academy Awards” host is Conan O’Brien. The official list of nominees for the “Academy Awards” has not been revealed. Still, the buzz around Hollywood is that the movies “Sinners” and “Wicked: For Good” will sweep the “Oscars” category with the most nominations.
Honoring Music’s Brightest Stars
For awards season, other award shows highlight artist achievements in the music industry, but the “Grammy Awards” and the “American Music Awards” focus only on music categories.
“Grammy Awards,”
The “Grammy Awards,” music’s biggest night, will take place on February 1 on CBS and stream on Paramount+. Currently, the host and performers for the “Grammy Awards” is still a surprise. Kendrick Lamar is nominated for the most Grammys, followed closely behind by Lady Gaga. Perhaps the Mother Monster will hit the Grammys stage for a performance.
“American Music Awards”
The “American Music Awards” will air on May 24, 2026, on CBS and stream live on Paramount+. Hosting this year will be returning host international superstar Jennifer Lopez. The AMA website announced that Janet Jackson will receive the ICON award and perform, along with performances from artists such as Gloria Estefan, Becky G, Gwen Stefani, and Blake Shelton, among others.
A Grand Finale on Broadway
The last letter in EGOT and the last award show to wrap up awards season is the “Tony Awards,” scheduled for June 7, 2026. The “Tony Awards” are the only award show dedicated to the theater and performance arts, honoring the stars of Broadway. The nominations for the “Tony Awards” and the host announcement will be released next year. To watch the “Tony Awards,” tune in to CBS and stream on Paramount+.
