‘The Batman: Part 2’ Returns to Gotham’s Blood‑Slicked, Drug‑Addled Streets on Oct. 1, 2027

Vengeance returns in full force “next week,” according to Robert Pattinson, who confirmed shooting is finally upon us for Batman 2 in a recent interview with Deadline. Pattinson proudly stated to Deadline’s reporter, “The script is extraordinary. I think it’s going to be a really, really special movie and very, very different.”

Robert Pattinson is Stoked on “The Batman: Part 2”

This is welcome news for many of us who were blown away by the first Matt Reeves venture into the belly of the beast that is Gotham City back in March 2022. That film faced its own delays due to the pandemic, and despite the rough start, it was released as a huge success in its own right. So successful, in fact, that this creative hive was granted an HBO miniseries, providing comic book aficionados with detailed backstory access to more of Colin Farrell’s grand slam performance as the Penguin.

Why fans are still obsessed with “The Batman”

“It’s going to be interesting seeing it come out. It’s taking some big swings.” Pattinson concluded while graciously responding to Deadline’s reporter about “The Batman: Part 2.” No surprise there — 176 minutes of brilliant performances that showcased one of the best DC Comics cinematic experiences was a breath of fresh air for fans worldwide, bringing the beloved lore back to its genesis in 1939. The character creation credit is entirely thanks to the legendary Bob Kane and Bill Finger.

Matt Reeves’ spin on the Dark Knight legend felt more plugged in to continuing the gritty, mostly grounded-in-reality tradition that the Christopher Nolan trilogy tucked its loving audience into than any of that weak sauce Ben Affleck and Zack Snyder collab. Reeves and company delivered a proper, dark and mature screenplay that manifested the best of the Batman characters, and the rogues gallery through utilizing the entirety of his cast’s collective on-screen chemistry.

How the Dent Family Could Shape “The Batman: Part 2”

In the interest of following up on the 2022 success of “The Batman,” “The Batman: Part 2” will continue using Reeves’ secret sauce by casting top-shelf Hollywood talent who are able to riff off each other on another level. Robert De Niro was approached to play Harvey Dent’s father (Christopher Dent), and according to one of the film industry’s best in the know, a gentleman by the name of Jeff Sneider, Mr. De Niro unfortunately dismissed it.

DC and Warner Bros. have not divulged anything beyond that; however, word in Crime Alley is that the Dent family members are going to play a key role in the 2027 film’s plot. The HBO miniseries “The Penguin” utilized and continued this integral part of Reeves’ screenwriting style. Viewers were able to sit in the comfort of their own homes and slowly, through the course of eight 60-minute episodes, get pulled deeper into the blood and traitor-stained streets of this Babylon that is Gotham City. Audiences at home started to feel something like sympathy until eventually understanding the significant and detrimental part the Cobblepot family played in the Penguin character’s early life.

Why Crime Alley’s Legacy Still Shapes Batman’s Long Wait

This is the winning formula in bringing the tone of this darker comic book character’s twists and turns successfully from the pages to the screen. These stories have already been provided to us by some of the most incredible writers in the comic book industry, coupled with their graphic novel, eye-grabbing, cinematic art from the best artists on the planet, which any fan would go nuts for.

According to Michael  Patterson, this sequel has been spinning its Batman 2 wheels in the mucked-up troubles of Hollywood for four years now. This is due to a variety of strikes within Hollywood and the troubles the whole DC Cinematic Universe has had taking off properly, since the first film graced us with its presence. It has been too long for many of us who enjoyed that initial opportunity immensely and have been dying to nerd out to whatever this top-tier creative team can deliver next.
