Never Let Go: Halle Berry Will Be Fighting An Invisible Evil Next September

Lionsgate released today the first poster for Halle Berry’s upcoming new movie, Never Let Go, which seems to encapsulate the mood of the movie. In the poster, Halle Berry is physically tethered with her two sons in the wild, and the rope that ties them together goes all the way underground. The poster perfectly captures the movie’s essence. Halle Berry is already shining in the trailer. You don’t want to miss this movie!

Never Let Go Synopsis

The narrative follows the family of a mother (Halle Berry) and her two sons after the world ends. They have been confined to their home as their lives are threatened outside, according to the mother. For as long as they can remember, their mother taught them never to let go of the rope that tethers them together back to their home, so they could remain safe. They all believed that the rope was their lifeline because there was some evil entity lurking in the woods. They accepted living tethered together to survive.

However, after a certain incident, one of the sons starts becoming skeptical of the existence of this evil entity and feels like the world might not have ended as his mother believes. The family’s bond is about to be shaken up from the inside. The mother finds herself fighting a battle she might not possess the weapons for, all for the sake of protecting her family and keeping them together.

Next to Halle Berry, the cast also includes two young talents: Percy Daggs IV (Paradise City, Undone, and Solos) and Anthony B. Jenkins (Florida Man, The Wonder Years, and Chicago Med). As for the production, it is under Alexandre Aja (Crawl, The Hills Have Eyes, and High Tension), Shawn Levy (Stranger Things, Real Steel, and Night at the Museum franchise), Dan Cohen (Stranger Things, The Darkest Minds, and Free Guy), and Dan Levine (Arrival, The Darkest Minds, and Free Guy). The movie’s screenplay was written by KC Coughlin (Mean Dreams and The King Tide) and Ryan Grassby (Pompeii, Mean Dreams, and The King Tide).

The movie’s genre is set to be a psychological thriller and horror. It will dive deep into the characters’ concept of family, the mental toll alienation takes on them, and the extent they would go to keep each other safe from the insidious horror of the sinister being that is haunting them.

Erin Westerman, Lionsgate’s Production President, praised Halle Berry’s performance and promised the audience a gripping thriller that will keep them on the edge of their seats. “She is the perfect person to convey the psychological terror of this mother trying to protect her family. And who better than Alex to ratchet up the tension.” Before the poster, Lionsgate released Never Let Go‘s trailer last May. The movie is set to release in theaters on September 27th!
