While streaming is a convenient way to watch our new favorite shows, the downside is how long things take. For The Gentlemen Season 2, fans can get excited for the brand new season, but with a new season comes a downside, too, and that’s having to wait for the next installment. Things are taking so much longer than fans anticipated, and it can get a bit frustrating. Lucky for fans, though, filming has begun, and things are finally moving along.
The Gentlemen Season 2: The Good News
Netflix has been known to have some hit original shows, but the only problem is how long production takes, and that goes for the second season of The Gentlemen. The show first premiered on the streaming service in March 2024, and is a spin-off of Guy Ritchie’s 2019 crime comedy that has the same name, starring big names like Matthew McConaughey, Colin Farrell, and Hugh Grant. The movie was so well-received that a spin-off show was formed for Netflix starring Theo James.
According to The Movie Web, the show had almost 1.21 billion minutes of viewing globally over its first four days, and had an audience review of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes. With such good numbers and reviews from the audience, the show was renewed for The Gentlemen Season 2 in August 2024, five months after the premiere.
The Gentlemen Season 2: The Bad News
With the good news also comes the bad news. While fans can get excited for The Gentlemen Season 2, they’re going to have to wait for quite some time before they can even think about streaming it. According to Screen Global Production, filming has literally just started for The Gentlemen Season 2. Just like the first season, there will be eight episodes, but fans will have to wait until 2026 to watch. While we don’t know much as to what the next season will even be about, there’s nothing we can really do except sit and wait.
While streaming is a beautiful thing, it seems like it’s taking longer and longer for new content to be created. The long gaps between seasons allow us to lose interest in the show and forget what happened in the season prior, since it’s taking way too long to make a new season. We used to be able to expect a new season of a show every year, and it seems like that’s not happening any longer. Regardless, we’re excited to see what’s next for The Gentlemen.
