This year, Netflix went bigger than ever with celebrity cameos and a live performance from Lady Gaga. Between all the guest speakers and fanfare, Netflix announced several new shows and movies fans can expect in the coming years.
Squid Game S3
After a dance number by the guards from Squid Game, Stars of Squid Game Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun went on stage to show off the brand new trailer for season three of Squid Game. With the Tagline “Every game comes to an end” fans can expect an explosive finale for Seong Gi-hun and the twisted front man running the Games coming on June 27th.
One Piece
Welcome Tony Tony Chopper to the Straw hat crew! Chopper will be the newest addition to the crew serving as the doctor, but hold on to that excitement because season 2 won’t be coming till 2026. He is fully CGI and very reminiscent of Sonic, but it’s a long wait until we learn more.
Knives out: Wake up Dead man
The newest entry in Rian Johnson Knives Out Universe finally has a release date. fans can look forward to watching the return of Benoit Blanc December 12th, along with a star studded cast. Rian Johnson himself came out to talk about the movie, along with Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, and a host of other big name actors.
WWE
In surprising news Netflix announced has exclusive rights to Monday Night Raw. This 10 year deal is a huge boon for Netflix, as Wrestling fans are some of the most loyal, outspoken fans in the world. CM Punk, The New Day, Rhea Ripley and more appeared on stage to promote the new deal.
Wednesday S2
The reveal everyone has been waiting for is finally here, our first look at Wednesday season 2 is here! Jenna Ortega is back, starting with a hunt for a doll-obsessed serial killer played by Haley Joel Osment. The biggest news for me was that season 2 has been split into two parts, with part 1 coming August 6th and part 2 September 3rd.
The Rip
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon Joined Tudum to promote their new Netflix original film “The Rip“. In This action crime movie Affleck and Damon play cops caught in the middle of a bust where everything goes awry. Tudum viewers were given a sneak preview of the movie, which showed drastic action, tense moments, and gave more questions than answered. The preview ended with a really interesting line from Matt Damon “AWTGG: Are We The Good Guys”. This is definitely a movie to watch out for.
Frankenstein
Guillermo del Torro’s newest Creature Feature finally got an update; Frankenstein is coming this November to Netflix. Starring Mia Goth, Oscar Isaac, and Jacob Elordi, this movie promises compelling story and epic scenery. The trailer shows a Frankenstein much more faithful to the source material than we have ever seen before.
Happy Gilmore 2
The return of a Legend is upon us. Happy Gilmore 2 released a trailer promising a return from all the classic characters, as well as a slew of celebrity cameos. From Bad Bunny to Travis kelce, it seems like everyone is in this movie.
Happy has gone from the best golf player in the world, to a middle age, below average father. To get his daughter into Dance School though, he has to become the golfer he once was
Stranger Things S5
While there is still no trailer for the new season of Stranger Things, we finally have a release date for all parts of the season, and yes I said parts. Netflix is splitting the Season in thirds, Volume I (November 26), Volume II (Christmas), and the Finale (New Years Eve). Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, and Caleb McLaughlin shared the stage at Tudum to look at old footage and talk about the upcoming season.
