As holidays roll around every year, the yummy food comes into play. It makes you wonder if other holidays are or can be designated for food during the year.
And there are! National Hamburger Day is a big one here in the US if you happen to keep up with the food holidays.
While this is just one day, what are the other ones? And how many other food-themed holidays there are that can be celebrated?
International Hot and Spicy Food Day
On January 16th, the whole world gets to celebrate yummy dishes full of spicy and hot food from all around the world.
Many people encourage others to join in on this day and add a little or a lot of spicy food to their diet. It’s a good way to get people to have a bit of spice in their life (and see their faces).
This holiday will bring you joy if you are a major fan of hot and spicy things. The best way to celebrate this holiday is to eat some spicy chips or have spicy ramen. You can also take your friends or family out to dinner and try the spiciest thing on the menu.
National Pizza Day
National Pizza Day is February 9th. You get to eat and celebrate the delicious tasting food and learn all about it on this holiday.
The best part about this day is the different types of pizza you can try. There are always different types of recipes for the same food, making it taste different and this happens to be one of them.
Pizza is really good for parties and celebrations and definitely gets to have its holiday.
The best way to celebrate this day is to get pizza or lunch for dinner. You can also get pizza for your workplace or even invite your friends over for the night with an invitation to a movie night with pizza and to bring a fun side.
National Hamburger Day
National Hamburger Day, as the name states, is May 24th.
While I’m not a fan of burgers of any kind, many people in the United States are. This food-themed holiday is pretty well known because of how it states the beginning of summer and the taste of BBQ.
It stands for the start of the grilling season with a nice summer sun. You can celebrate this by having a grill out outside.
National Chocolate Ice-Cream Day
National Chocolate Ice-Cream Day has to be my favorite. With the day celebrated on June 7th, it’s one of the best summer snacks to have when you want to cool down. And most tasty.
A good way to celebrate this holiday is to make homemade ice cream or visit your local ice cream shop and sit outside enjoying the sun.
This food-themed holiday is good for kids and keeps them occupied.
Final Words
Believe it or not, there is a food-themed holiday for pretty much every day in our 365-day year. Crazy right?
Not many people tend to know about these food-themed holidays because they tend to be overlooked by others and the bigger holidays, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, tend to overshadow them.
There can also be different holidays on the same day if you happen to have trouble choosing one.
I think this is cool because if you are unsure of what to eat or what to make that day, you can just search for the date and food holiday to get it.
Maybe just a few holidays like National Hamburger Day and National Pizza Day might be known, but it’s nice to spread awareness of different types of foods and their origins for getting the day they get.
