Superstar songwriter and record producer Benny Blanco made his first debut on the Stern Show Tuesday morning. Benny Blanco is well-known for his work with many famous superstars such as Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Adam Levine, SZA, Britney Spears, Sia, Ed Sheeran, and Selena Gomez. He also has 11 Grammy nominations and five BMI Songwriter of the Year awards as he crafted over 30 chart-topping singles with the aforementioned artists. Most of us are no strangers to mental illnesses, and Benny Blanco is no exception. With the surmountable amount of success he’s had, it’s normal to find him with anxiety and panic attacks, and he speaks openly about such issues on the show. He admitted that he kept it to himself when he was 12, and at age 21, he had a mental breakdown due to being overwhelmed with all the success.
He sought therapy and found cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to be a lifesaver. Overall he’s in a much better place, but Blanco is aware that his issues with anxiety and imposter syndrome will never go away. Thankfully, he’s got a few tricks up his sleeve to keep busy. Whether it be acting, writing a cookbook, or anything to challenge himself with to stay inspired.
Additionally, when he was asked how he gets his work done, he said that he blacks out, wakes up, and there are crumbs all over him, and a song is done. He kept it simple. He also went on about his collaborations with superstars Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Sia, Rhianna, and Billie Eilish, and the fantastic times he’s had with them.

Blanco opened up about his relationship with Selena Gomez on the show as the two became romantically involved in 2023. Blanco went into length about his love for her, how, on their first Valentine’s Day, he rented out a whole movie theater and bought her all her favorite foods. Benny Blanco admits that he has to get his act together, and he states that he plans on having babies and that their anniversary is nearing her birthday (which is July 22nd.)
When Howard Stern said he predicted marriage for both Blanco and Gomez, Benny replied: ‘You and me both.’ As for children, he announced that that’s his next goal on the box since he has a lot of God kids and nephews, which makes him love being around kids.

It’s amazing to see a superstar songwriter like Blanco talk about mental health openly and love on the show. His talk about therapy shows others that it’s okay to seek help if you need it, and the way he talks about Selena Gomez makes you want to want love. Overall, it was a great debut!
