It’s celebration time for BTS fans as the leader of the popular boy band BTS, RM or Kim Namjoon recently released the music video of his new single named “Come Back to Me” on the 10th of May which is written by RM himself. It is the title track of his upcoming solo album “Right Place, Wrong Person”.
We got to see numerous well-known and extraordinary actors/actresses like “Pachinka” star Kim Minha, Kim A Hyun, Choi Seung-yoon, “Beef” actor Joseph Lee, Lee Sukhyeong, Gi So-yoo known for “The Good Bad Mother”, Lee Sanghee and Kang Gilwoo in the 6-minute-long music video.
RM’s Message in “Come Back to Me”
The music video of “Come back to me” wasn’t just an ordinary video, it held a very deep meaning where RM tells the story of finding yourself beautifully. In the video, RM portrays himself in different characters from different stages of life.
At the start, we see a person who doesn’t seem happy with his friends, we see him as a married man and a father, but he seems lost in there as well. After that comes a lover who is in an odd relationship with his girlfriend and lastly, we see him as an infant. He wasn’t happy in any of the phases as he kept running and looking at a locked door which he couldn’t open even after trying.
In the song he uses a line,
“You don’t have to be anything you see,
Trying not to be that something in this sea”
Through this line, he conveyed a very beautiful message that you don’t have to follow the crowd and meet their expectations by sacrificing your own happiness. No one can take responsibility for another’s happiness. One is his own “Pain” and one can be his own “Divine”.
In the second part of the song, RM faces his own reflection while scrambling in the dark. Once he found himself, he found his happiness and satisfaction in every phase of life. The running and waiting is finally over and the brightened door opens up by itself. The last thing we see is a good friend, a family man, a successful lover and a happy infant because now he is being himself which is why everything seems beautiful.
Fans Reaction to the Track
As soon as RM’s comeback released, it blew away the internet not only for the song but also for the meaningful video. The music video got 5.3 million views within the first 24 hours and ranked as #1 in the worldwide iTunes chart which is a great achievement in itself.
Fans expressed their appreciation and praised RM as an extraordinary artist who is amazing at his job. There are tweets and social media posts everywhere thanking RM for delivering such a beautiful message of finding yourself.
Where is RM now?
The BTS members are currently taking their compulsory military training in South Korea. Although, there was a debate whether BTS members should go to the military training or not, but they all ended up enlisted one by one. RM started his military training on 11th December 2023 and is supposed to finish the training by 6th June 2025. BTS members prepared enough content and songs for their fans before going to the military, which is admirable. Even when RM is not there to promote it, online and offline. “Come Back to Me” reached directly to people’s hearts and received lots of love.
