After a teaser hinting at a possible Oasis reunion was released on Sunday, every fan of the English rock band set their alarms for the Tuesday morning announcement. On Tuesday, fans learned at 8 a.m. that the iconic Britpop band would reunite next summer to tour the British Isles. The Oasis reunion will be the first time in 15 years the band that brought you “Wonderwall” will share a stage. The tour is 14 shows in Wales, England, Scotland, and Ireland.

Oasis featured the teaser on their Twitter account, while brothers Liam and Noel posted the video clip to their personal social media pages Sunday. With just one day until the date and time link up, fans began speculating what the teaser could mean for the band. Is it a tour reunion? Is it an announcement that centers around the 30th anniversary of their hit album, Definitely Maybe? Could the band be releasing new music? Well, maybe.
For weeks, the Oasis Facebook page has been dedicated to hyping the 30th anniversary of Definitely Maybe. It would have been fitting if the teaser was related to the LP, which will be released in collaboration with Blood Records! This deluxe version of the album features such hits as “Champagne Supernova,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” and “Wonderwall.” Definitely Mabye (30th Anniversary) is set to release Friday, Aug. 30.
Bad Blood
The teaser announcement was met with much hope for an Oasis reunion tour. It has been 15 years since the band shared the stage. In a timeline issued Monday by The Telegraph, readers learn that the bickering between brothers began much earlier than their 2009 blow-out at the Rock en Seine Festival in Paris. Following an argument between the brothers – which was said to be commonplace backstage – Liam reportedly smashed Noel’s guitar. This act by Liam led to the band canceling their headlining performance at the festival and ultimately led to Noel’s permanent departure from Oasis.
The Oasis Reunion is on
On Tuesday, the world learned the meaning behind the cryptic message issued by both Gallagher brothers. It is time to pull out the old waterproof parka, find the white oval sunnies, and dust off the trainers! It is hard to believe it has been 15 years since the band broke up. It is even harder to believe it’s been 30 years since Oasis inspired fans everywhere.
Not to mention, a large majority of acoustic guitar players to give their best shot at covering “Wonderwall” at open mic nights across the globe. If these family-feuding brothers “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” they can leave fans with an Oasis reunion that solidifies how important they were to thousands across the globe. As Liam sang best, “I said maybeeeee…” Tickets go on sale Saturday at 9 a.m.
