Lizzo Invites Missy Elliot for a Fiery Collaboration on Her 1st Commercially Released Mixtape
Lizzo has extended an open invitation for a collaboration on her new mixtape, “My Face Still Hurts From Smiling.” She made this announcement on June 30, 2025, during an interview on TMZ Live. She specifically mentioned that Missy could choose any song on the Mixtape for the collaboration. The invitation is described as a “Lizzo-Wayne summer collaboration”.
She told Billboard in an interview Lil Wayne inspired the mixtape, so she wanted to know which track she’d want Wayne to feature on, and, for the remix, sounds like “Bend It Over” is her pick. As for Missy Elliott, she says she is inspired by her and is giving Elliott free rein; any track she wants to collaborate on is hers. This is definitely Lizzo’s summer because she’s not only got the new music out, but she also says her recent weight loss has elevated her life on all levels.
Lizzo and Elliot’s collab song

“Tempo” is the song by the American singer and rapper for her third studio album and major label debut. Lizzo unleashed the music video for her and the legendary rapper’s song “Tempo” on July 26. Lizzo rocked a sparely red, white, and blue bikini with a matching red cowboy hat and blue fur cape, serving up some impressive twerking in the video. “Tempo” sets the tone with an aggressive guitar lick, as Missy gets you ready for the avalanche to come.
I’ve been waiting for this one, turn it up, says Missy
Lizzo then flips the track into an ode to curvaceous women. “Boyfriend watchin’, oh now he wanna knuckle up/Get on this ride, baby, you gon’ have to buckle up/Thick thighs save lives, call me little buttercup/All means necessary/My ass is not an accessory,” the Atlantic Records signee raps. Elliot returns to have some fun of her own with the nostalgia-filled record. She paid homage to Missy for inspiring her to pursue music with a touching post on social media.
