K-Pop Demon Hunters KPop Demon Hunters

The animated Netflix movie K-Pop Demon Hunters has recently gripped the world’s attention. Viewers cannot help but become fans for one reason or another after one watch. They fall in love with its characters, humor, or action. And one aspect they adore above all is the delightfully infectious music.

Countless catchy songs sung by the characters appear throughout the movie’s run. Many of them came from talented and acclaimed music writers, producers, and singers. However, recent news reveals that AI was involved in the creation of a beloved tune. But what does the song’s creator have to say in response to these allegations?

Reliving KPop Demon Hunters

K-Pop Demon Hunters follows three talented best friends – Rumi, Mira, and Zoey. They form a Korean pop music trio known worldwide as Huntr/x. But when not wowing the world from the stage, they’re hunting vile soul-sucking demons. They are also determined to create a magical barrier that’ll seal the monsters away forever.

Things are looking good until a new boy band arrives and begins stealing Huntr/x’s fans. It isn’t long until the ladies discover their new rivals are actually demons. And they soon set their sights on hunting them and winning back their followers. Unfortunately, complications occur when Rumi starts to connect with the lead demon.

Trouble Regarding Iconic Song

In addition to being a fantasy action flick, K-Pop Demon Hunters is a musical. Viewers witness memorable melodies like How It’s Done, Golden, and Your Idol. Another prominent tune featured in the film is the catchy Soda Pop. It’s the song the demon band, the Saja Boys, perform during their first public appearance. They use it to steal away Huntr/x’s fans and depower the current worldwide demon-trapping barrier.

Soda Pop, in real life, was written by prominent K-pop music artist and producer Vince. And recently, he admitted to using ChatGPT during the construction of this fan-favorite tune. Vince then explained that his usage of the program was for inspiration purposes only. He needed help with making Soda Pop sound bubbly, and that’s it. There was no further use of ChatGPT afterward, and Vince himself wrote the final version.

Despite this revelation, fans are disappointed that AI was involved in this movie at all. And now there are rumors that someone or something mistranslated Vince’s original statement. We can only wait to see if an update arrives soon to explain everything. Until then, we can enjoy Soda Pop and the other songs from K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Final Thoughts

I’m among the group of K-Pop Demon Hunters fans who aren’t disappointed in Vince. He admitted that he only used AI for inspiration, but not for the actual creation. If ChatGPT actually created Soda Pop, I’d be upset or disappointed without a doubt. That’s not the case, so I’m moving on and going about my life.

Admittedly, Soda Pop is one of my favorite songs from the film. The lyrics are very catchy, and the beat gets my body bouncing every time. If you haven’t heard it yet, you can easily find it over on YouTube. Or head to Netflix and experience it while watching KPop Demon Hunters.
