Not wanting to let the fans down, the show must go on, the “Almost Doesn’t Count” singer still tried to perform and even mentioned making adjustments to the show to fit her health concerns, but “it was impossible to fully connect sonically with the production.”
After walking off stage, some fans had sympathy for the singer while others were upset because they paid to see both ladies perform. One TikTok user wrote, “And she never came back? this is very unprofessional.” Another TikTok fan had a different reaction and wrote, “Let’s remember that no artist would just walk away knowing thousands of people paid to see them.. let’s remember they are human and obviously something is wrong.”
Brandy Thanks Monica After Onstage Chaos
Monica did complete the show, but many fan was left disappointed because the duo did not get to perform “The Boy Is Mine,” the 90’s hit song the tour is named after. The “Cinderella” actor ended the letter by thanking Monica and the crew and confirming she went to see a doctor.
“I’m deeply grateful to my sister, Monica, for stepping up with such grace and professionalism and the entire crew for their continued care and support. I went from the arena to see a doctor nearby and have taken the proper precautions to help me move forward.
Brandy took full accountability for walking off stage, and the tour will continue with both ladies. The Boy Is Mine tour will return to Chicago for another show on October 25th. Joining the ladies on the tour are Kelly Rowland, Muni Long, and Jamal Roberts.
