A Look At The 5 Grammy Nominees for Best Rock Album
The Grammy Awards are coming up this weekend in Los Angeles. It is time to take a look at the nominees for Best Rock Album in 2026. The competition in this category was fierce this year, and the nominees all had very different musical styles. Let’s dive in.
Grammy Nominees for Best Rock Album
There are five nominees for best rock album at the 2026 Grammy Awards. The nominees are Private Music by the Deftones, I Quit by Haim, From Zero by Linkin Park, Never Enough by Turnstile, and Idols by Yungblud.
Linkin Park, whose lead singer, Chester Bennington, died tragically a few years ago, is the sentimental favorite. However, current odds favor Turnstile taking home the Gramophone trophy. Here is a little more about each nominee.
Deftones – Private Music
Private Music is the tenth studio album by the Sacramento-based alt-metal band the Deftones. Private Music was released on August 22, 2025, through Reprise and Warner Records. The album reached #5 on the Billboard 200 and produced the hit singles “My Mind Is a Mountain” and “Milk of the Madonna.” This was the Deftones’ fifth Grammy nomination in their long and storied history. They won Best Metal Performance in 2001 and Best Remixed Recording in 2022 (with a mix by fellow nominee Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park).
Haim – I Quit
I Quit is the fourth studio album by the Los Angeles rock band Haim. The album was released on June 20, 2025, by Columbia Records and internationally by Polydor Records, and was the Haim sisters’ first studio album in five years. The band was an international success, reaching the Top 20 in nine countries. It peaked at #3 on Billboard’s Top Rock and Alternative Album chart. This year’s nomination was the band’s fifth.
Linkin Park – From Zero
From Zero is Linkin Park‘s eighth studio album, released on November 15, 2024, through Warner Records. It was the band’s first studio album in seven years. From Zero is the first album featuring new vocalist Emily Armstrong and new drummer Colin Brittain. The album’s title references both the band’s original name, Xero, and the band’s new chapter with Armstrong and Brittain. The album marks the first Grammy nomination for the group in 15 years. The album topped 21 charts internationally, including Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart in the U.S. This year’s two Grammy nominations give Linkin Park eight for their career. They are also nominated for Best Rock Performance.
Turnstile – Never Enough
Turnstile released Never Enough, the band’s fourth studio album, on June 6, 2025, on Roadrunner Records. It is the band’s first album without founding member Brady Ebert, and their first with Meg Mills on guitar. Never Enough reached the Top 10 in nine countries, including topping the Rock/Metal chart in the UK. The band was nominated for five Grammys this year across the Rock, Metal, and Alternative categories, bringing their career total to eight nominations.
Yungblud – Idols
Idols is British musician Yungblud’s fourth studio album. It was released on June 20, 2025, through Locomotion Recordings and Capitol Records. The album topped the charts in six countries and produced the hit singles “Lovesick Lullaby” and “Zombie.” Yungblud was also nominated for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song Grammys.
Parting Shots
The 2026 Grammy Awards will be telecast on February 1st, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, airing live on CBS and Paramount+.ย This is the 68th Grammy Awards. It would be nice if Linkin Park could win its first Grammy Award in 15 years, but it looks like this is Turnstile’s year.
