Disney Pixar’s 2015 animated film Inside Out is a fantastic movie that introduces kids and adults alike to the inner workings of human emotion by bringing those emotions to life.
When 11-year-old Riley moves from her Minnesota suburb to San Francisco, she finds herself grappling with the complex feelings that come with such a big life change. Her feelings, personified inside her brain, must embark on a mission to help Riley as she navigates this change. Packed with action, humor, and the hijinks of personified emotions, there’s something in the movie for everyone. With the sequel arriving June 14th, here are 4 reasons to be excited for Inside Out 2.

We get to revisit familiar characters. Inside Out 2 follows Riley and her emotions in her freshman year of high school. It’s always interesting to see how our favorite characters grow and change over time. This sequel puts us on the front lines with Riley as she makes new friends, plays her favorite sport, and learns how to cope with being a teenager. It’s sure to be a relatable movie for many viewers.
#2 Reason to Be Excited for Disney Pixar’s Inside Out 2
Inside Out teaches valuable lessons. When Riley moves from Minnesota to California in the first movie, she is overwhelmed by sadness and mourns her old life. Her personified emotion, Joy, doesn’t like it when things aren’t happy for Riley. Joy must learn to accept that to have happiness you must also embrace sadness and other negative emotions as they occur. This is a lesson that we all have to learn in our lifetime (sometimes over and over again).

Look out Riley, new emotions are on the way! In the first Inside Out movie, we follow Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Fear as they navigate the challenges of Riley’s new life. In the upcoming Inside Out 2, we are met with four new emotions! Adolescence is all about learning to cope with complex emotions. I look forward to saying hello to Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui in this upcoming sequel.

One of the best things about Inside Out is the film’s ability to balance humor and heartfelt moments throughout the movie. While Riley is experiencing strong emotions like grief and sadness, the film takes a humorous approach to teach valuable lessons about managing one’s feelings. Whether it’s exploring new areas of Riley’s brain or meeting new characters, Inside Out 2 is sure to bring fresh new ideas to the big screen.
Meeting Riley in high school, learning more about handling complex emotions, meeting new characters, and getting some laughs along the way; I don’t know about you but I’m very excited to see what Inside Out 2 has in store. With the success of its predecessor, there is much anticipation for Disney Pixar’s Inside Out 2 as it hits theatres on June 14th.
