“It’s being written. That doesn’t mean it will be finished and be great, but if it’s being written it will definitely be momentous when we read it. We all know what’s in it. But there’s a very, very good writer writing it right now who tends to write really good movies. If the script comes out close to good and you can see the finish line from where you are, we’re making the movie.”
Furthermore, Turteltaub revealed he is confident Cage would come back and reprise his role as Ben Gates. While this development is far from a guarantee, the fact that an actual script is being written should excite fans. There are too many movies that fans are clamoring for, and they have no movement at all. National Treasure 3 at least has a script being worked on.

Will National Treasure 3 win an Academy Award? Not a chance. However, moviegoers feel like they get their money’s worth when they see these films. That is what matters.
