Never Let Go- September 20th (Theaters)

From Hills Have Eyes director Alexandre Aja, Never Let Go stars Oscar winner Halle Berry as a mother fighting to survive in a post-apocalyptic world with her twin sons. Keeping ropes tied to them to keep them connected when outside, one son questions if the evils outside genuinely exist, and soon, their close bond is tested as they are thrown into a fight for survival. This end-of-the-world horror will keep you at the edge of your seat this Halloween season. 

 

Apartment 7A- September 27th (Paramount+) 

 

Roman Polanskis Rosemary Baby rightfully holds its place as one of the most popular horror movies from the late 1960s. In Natlia Erika James’ second directorial horror movie, viewers will see Terry Gionfro, played by Julia Garner, an aspiring dancer Rosemary befriends in the original film. Terry begins to fall for the satanic cult’s promises and soon finds herself tied up in this dark world. Despite being released almost six decades after Polanski’s cult hit, Apartment 7A will look differently at the horror surrounding the dark forces in the infamous Bedford Apartments. 

 

Hold Your Breath- October 3rd (Hulu) 

 

Sarah Paulson has rightfully taken her place as a scream queen for the new generation. In this psychological thriller, Paulson plays a mother trapped in the horrifying Oklahoma dust storms of the 1930s who believes a sinister presence is threatening her family. Directed by Karrie Crouse and William Jones, Hold Your Breath is a horror historical flick that is a must-see for your Halloween watchlist. 

 

V/H/S Beyond- October 4th ( Shudder) 

 

The seventh film in the popular found footage franchise, V/H/S Beyond, will feature six tapes focusing on the horrors of the unknowns in our galaxy. It will feature directors  Jordan Downey, Christian Long & Justin Long, Justin Martinez, Virat Pal, Kate Siegel, and Jay Cheel. Each tape will feature a spine-chilling first-hand look at the horrors of what lies beyond. Perfect for those looking for something more sci-fi-based this Halloween season. 

 

Terrifier 3- October 11th (Theaters)

Art the Clown from the Terrifier franchise has easily become a known face with other iconic faces of horror. In the third installment, this film will take place during Christmas time, and Art the Clown is sure to make it terrifying. Director Damien Leone is set to return to blend the horrors of Halloween with the backdrop of Christmas for those who love both holidays. 

 

Smile 2- October 18th (Theaters)

 

Director Parker Finn returns for the sequel to his debut hit, Smile. The film will follow pop sensation Skye Riley, played by Naomi Scott, who soon sees horrifying events from her uncanny smile fans. Breaking under the pressures of fame and the mysterious curse, Riley must confront her dark past before setting out on her world tour. Smile 2 is set to be a pop-corn tossing thrill for a Halloween night at the movies,

 

Salem’s Lot- October (Max) 

 

Stephens Kings’ book-to-film adaptations have been scaring audiences for generations. After an almost two-year delay, Salem’s Lot, based on Kings’ 1975 vampire classic, will be available on Max come October. Directed by Annabelle Comes Home Director Gary Dauberman, Salem’s Lot follows Ben Mears, played by Lewis Pullman, who returns to his hometown, Jerusalem’s Lot, and soon learns Vampires are hunting residents. A Halloween movie night would not be complete without one of King’s stories frightening you.
