Beetlejuice, whatever you do, don’t say his name three times. The juice is loose, and you won’t find a better bio-exorcist in the undead world. This sequel to Tim Burton’s dark fantasy horror comedy film is almost here. The screenplay by Michael McDowell and Warren Skaaren is based on the story of McDowell and Larry Wilson. Its sequel stars Jenna Ortega and Justin Theroux, as well as the returning ones Winona Ryder and the ever-haunting Michael Keaton. It finally comes 36 years after its original, comes out on September 6th, and we will finally learn what happens in Winter River, Connecticut, and the ghost with the most.
Beetlejuice 2 To Be A Masterpiece Sequel
This terrible tale begins with Barbara and Adam Maitland deciding to do a stay-and-play vacation. As they are driving home, they crash across a covered bridge, plunging them into a river. The next thing they know, they are home without any explanation of how they got home.Their explanation is that they died. Not soon after, their house is sold to the Deetz. In the afterlife, Maitlands hate the prospect of spending their eternity as spirits with them, so in desperation, they hire the best haunter in the business, Beetlejuice.
The Maitlands don’t agree with his methods, but like a genie out of its bottle, Beetlejuice doesn’t want to go back to where he was. It soon becomes the living and the dead doing all they can to fight against Beetlejuice. After all this time, Michael Keaton returns to his role as the ghost that no one wants but everyone loves to watch. This time, he comes back with Lydia Deetz, played by Winona, who is struggling to do all she can to save her teenage daughter Astrid, played by Jenna.
Here’s What Keaton Has In Store For Us
Keaton gives us a hint of what is going on. “[It has] a stronger story. There’s more of a connection for the audience in terms of the other characters. There’s things in here that I wasn’t ready for, that are beyond delightful. Instead of saying, ‘I can’t wait until this thing shows up, or, I just want this thing called Beetlejuice to go nuts.”
There is more this time to challenge the living, as Tim Burton also throws in Catherine O’Hara, Monica Bellucci, Burn Gorman, Danny DeVito, Arthur Conti, and Willem Dafoe. With a cast of undead like that, who wants to be alive? Dafoe plays an afterlife detective named Wolf Jackson. If that doesn’t seem enough for our favorite ghost to handle, get a load of Beetlejuice’s ex-wife, played by Monica.
Their promises to be mayhem for both the living and the dead, as the beginning of the film holds a terrible tragedy befalling the Deetz. Lydia is having her hands full working with her daughter Astrid when Beetlejuice is set loose. The best mischievous demon returns, doing what only he can do as of Friday, the 6th.
