Anime has quickly become one the most popular way to watch shows as well as movies. Studios all over the world are creating their own versions of anime. So, here is the list of the best Studio Ghibli Anime’s of all time. 

3. Studio Ghibli Film: Ponyo

Ponyo is the tenth film for Hayao Miyazaki, it is also the eight directed film from Studio Ghibli. The Ghibli film follows the story of the young goldfish princess Ponyo. Ponyo dreams of going to the surface world and living among the humans. Within the film Ponyo befriends a 5-year-old human boy, the boy and Ponyo become best friends and goes on multiple adventures. 

This film was released back in 2008. The interesting touch to this amazing film is it has elements of Disney’s Little Mermaid within the Ghibli film. Throughout this film there are multiple references from the Disney movie about ocean pollution as well as ocean preservation. The animation was hand drawn by Hayao Miyazaki himself, with vibrant colors it helps brighten the magical storytelling of the film. 

2. Studio Ghibli Film: Howl’s Moving Castle

Being inspired by the novel, Howl’s Moving Castle was made after the novel with the same name by British author Diana Wynne Jones. This film follows the story of a young girl named Sophie; she befriends the charming wizard named Howl who lives in his magical castle. When a witch curses Sophie, Howl does everything in his power to save Sophie before her time runs out. 

This film was released back in 2004, even though this film is over 20 years old it is still considered one of the best Studio Ghibli films of all time. Howl’s Moving Castle shows Miyazaki’s amazing animation skills, it also shows his skills to create characters for amazing storytelling. Howl’s Moving Castle not only has amazing storytelling and characters, but it has even better visuals. 

1. Studio Ghibli Film: Spirited Away

Spirited Away was Studio Ghibli’s most popular film ever created and put the studio on the map internationally. This film in particular has won multiple awards for the Best Anime Film of The Year. Spirited Away follows the story of a 10-year-old girl named Chihiro, who becomes intwined with the world of gods and monsters when she moves to a new neighborhood with her parents. 

Chihiro must learn how to navigate the spirit world and figure out how to escape before she becomes stuck there forever. The film was released back in 2001, this was Miyazaki’s greatest creation with his stunning animation skills and visuals making it the greatest Studio Ghibli film of all time.
