Tom Brady, Reveals Who He Would Want To Play Him In A Biopic Movie

Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady revealed who he would want to portray him in a future Hollywood movie. Considering his resume as a winning NFL quarterback, it is only fitting that he would want a legendary movie star to play him in a possible biopic film in the future.

Tom Brady Reveals Legendary A-list Actor to Portray Him in Biopic

Brady is currently working on a multi-part docuseries in his partnership with Fanatic Studios. Brady was asked about a potential biopic about his life and NFL career during the studio’s launch. Although he proposed native Bostonians like Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg, this time the multi-Super Bowl winner chose a different actor.

Brady told Access Hollywood on Jan. 14, “I like Leo, man, he’s a special guy. We’ve got a lot of time to kind of hang out and talk and he’s such a deep, thoughtful guy. He’s got a tremendous perspective on a lot of things, and we’ve had a lot of fun together.” Looks like Brady thinks that Leonardo DiCaprio would be a good choice to portray him should a biopic movie come to fruition.

Tom Brady’s and DiCaprio’s Deepening Friendship

It’s not every day that the greatest quarterback of all time casually mentions that he and one of the world’s most acclaimed actors spend time talking about life, perspective, and whatever else two global icons discuss when the cameras aren’t around. Brady’s commentary didn’t seem to be just flattery. They hinted at a real connection-one that could make DiCaprio a contender if a biopic moves forward.

The idea of DiCaprio playing Brady isn’t as far-fetched as it might sound. If a biopic were to move forward, DiCaprio could play Brady at his present age while casting a younger actor to play a younger version of Tom Brady. The actor and former star quarterback have been spotted together multiple times, including a New Year’s yacht hangout.

Why a Tom Brady Biopic is Ripe for a Hollywood Adaptation

Brady’s journey from a sixth-round draft pick to the most decorated quarterback in league history is already the stuff of myth. Add in his longevity, his late career move to Tampa Bay, his Super Bowl victories, and his transition into business and media, and you have a narrative that spans eras and industries.

A biopic would also have no shortage of dramatic beats: The infamous 2000 NFL Draft slide, the rise of the Patriots dynasty, the Brady-Belichick partnership and eventual split, his move to Tampa Bay and immediate championship, his retirement, unretirement, final farewell, and his post-NFL ventures, including broadcasting and production.

It’s a story that blends sports, culture, and personal evolution-exactly the kind of arc that attracts A-list talent. Nothing is official, and there will need to be a script that comes first. However, the fact that Brady is openly entertaining DiCaprio as a possibility says a lot about how he views his own story, and who he trusts to tell it.

Brady and DiCaprio are two talented figures who have dominated their respective fields for decades. Their friendship, combined with Brady’s growing presence in Hollywood, makes the idea of a collaboration feel less like a fantasy and more like a matter of timing.

Again, keep in mind that nothing is official, as many things will have to happen first before a Tom Brady biopic would ever come to fruition. In speaking with Variety in December, Wahlberg said, “I could play his uncle. I wouldย loveย to play Bill Belichick.โ€ If a Tom Brady biopic ever hits theatres, do not be surprised if DiCaprio stars wearing the No. 12 jersey.
