You know what time it is, it’s Sunrise on the Reaping time! For the uninitiated, Sunrise on the Reaping is the 5th Hunger Games book in the franchise. It goes over Haymitch Abernathy’s games, the man who played the role of mentor for Katniss and Peeta. Honestly, Sunrise on the Reaping is heart-wrenching as hell.

The Basic Premise Behind Sunrise on the Reaping

Imagine, for a second, you have a mother, a younger sibling, and a spouse, then you get reaped for the Hunger Games. It isn’t even your fault! That doesn’t matter, though. Yet, you somehow survive even with double the amount of tributes as usual through some sabotage, cause let’s be real, those games were a mess from the beginning. Anyway, after all of that, you get home and expect to finally relax, right?

Nope! You don’t get to relax, you have to watch your home get burned to a crisp with your mother and sibling inside, and then, after that traumatizing event, your spouse is killed right in front of you and dies in your arms. That would be traumatizing, right? Well, that’s the main gist of what Haymitch went through.

It makes sense that he’s an alcoholic, it does! Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s finally talk about the title, shall we?

So, what do we know about the set? Admittedly, not much. We know a lot more about the cast than the set; however, we do know that the arena location is based in Spain, but they’re likely going to use CGI in order to avoid trampling all of the beautiful flora there, which makes sense; preservation is important.

We also know that the pillars for the tributes have been marked. Other than that, there isn’t really much to talk about. They still need to film, and once production is officially underway, there’ll definitely be more released.

So, is that it? Unfortunately, yeah, pretty much. It’s not like we can sneak onto the set to try and find out more. One more thing that we do know is that there’s been a casting call for background characters in case you want to apply. If you apply? May the odds be ever in your favor.
