Johnny Knoxville Hosting Fear Factor Reboot! Enter The House of Fear And Face Your Nightmares Jan. 14, 2026
If there is one thing the early 2000s taught us, it’s that people will do absolutely anything for money and five minutes of fame. Well, dust off your barf bags, because the “Fear Factor” franchise is back, and the baton has been given to THE king of questionable life choices, Mr. Johnny Knoxville! This upcoming reboot has been titled “House of Fear”, so pack your bags and extra underwear, contestants and viewers!
‘Fear Factor: House of Fear’ Why Now?

Fox is launching “Fear Factor: House of Fear” in January 2026, bringing in a new social twist, a specialized cast, and a host who has likely sustained more injuries than all previous contestants and crew combined. With this upcoming reboot, Fox is ditching the episodic format where contestants are immediately eliminated and trying something new.
“Fear Factor: House of Fear” will have 14 contestants who aren’t meeting at the stunt location but will be living together. Dropped into a remote location, these strangers have to coexist under one roof. This introduces a “twisted game of social strategy” where trust is a currency and fear is used as a weapon. In the old days, you just had to have a cast-iron stomach. But now, you have to survive the stunts AND the psychological warfare of your roommates.
HERE’S Johnny!!!

When you think about human endurance and the ability to laugh in the face of physical trauma, Knoxville is the first person that comes to mind (with Steve-O in close second). This guy was front and center in a majority of the ridiculous and stupid stunts on the reality show “Jackass.” He might as well be the patron saint of “Don’t Try This At Home,” especially since he survived a hit from a bull. Having Knoxville preside over these stunts (and cracking a few jokes) adds a layer of credibility.
Who Will Be Staying in at the House of Fear?

The casting department pulled in a diverse group of 14 American competitors, ranging in age from 20 to 59. They aren’t professional stunt people or extreme fitness junkies. We’ve got a list of regular people with very distinct backgrounds. Here is the roster of brave (or foolish) souls entering the game:
- Rodney (59): A retired NYPD Detective
- Danielle (41): An Aerospace Engineer
- Zach (33): Listed as an “Unemployed Coalminer”
- Chelsea (34): A “Spelling to Communicate Practitioner”
- Rob (35): An eBike Business Owner from San Diego
- Tyler (34): A Stay-at-home Mom from North Carolina
- Jeni (48): A Teacher’s Aid from Colorado
- Dida (21): A Soccer Player
- Ethan (20): An Emergency Dispatcher
- Blake (36): High School Physics Teacher
- Damienne (30): Salon Owner
- Jayleen (28): Marketing professional
- Kristen (29): School Counselor
- Lance (31): Flight Attendant
