“Home Alone” 35th Anniversary Limited Pop-Up Events Bring Holiday Nostalgia to Fans

Back in 1990, “Home Alone” was a hit that came out of nowhere. The story of a boy accidentally left at home alone for Christmas and who must defend his house from burglars has become a holiday classic that many families watch every year. Now, to celebrate the film’s 35th anniversary, Disney is going all out with in-person pop-up events.

“Home Alone” Pizza Parties!

As reported by Comics Beat, Prince St. Pizza will be rebranding itself from December 10 to 17 into Little Nero’s, the fictional pizza restaurant from “Home Alone.” Across the nation, locations will include collectible Little Nero’s packaging. The Chicago and Toronto locations will include Little Nero’s decor as well.

In Los Angeles, the Studio City Location will be given a complete Little Nero’s makeover, including the Little Nero’s pizza car parked outside. If you live in the area, be sure to pay them a visit and order the cheese pizza. You’ll remember from the film that Kevin hates all pizza toppings except plain cheese. The LA cheese pizza will be temporarily renamed “The Lovely Cheese Pizza” as a tribute to Kevin’s favorite pizza.

A Gingerbread House!

If you prefer sweet holiday treats to pizza, Disney+ and Hulu have commissioned a giant gingerbread house based on the McCallister house from the “Home Alone” movies. According to Comics Beat, “the house will stand at a whopping 58 feet long, 42 feet wide, and 25.6 feet tall.” They also included these tidbits:

“Made from 5,700 pounds of all-purpose flour and over 4,200 eggs, the house will be constructed out of 4,400 gingerbread brick tiles and 800 roof tiles, all held together with 20 gallons of edible glue and finished with 20 pounds of fondant. Weather dependent, this installation will be open to the public in the evenings on December 18 and 19 at Hollywood and Vine in Los Angeles, California.”

Possibly in honor of Kevin wanting to help a children’s charity in “Home Alone 2,” people who visit the gingerbread house can make donations to Toys for Tots while there. Should you visit the gingerbread house, bring an unwrapped, unopened new toy to donate to needy kids. You’ll make a child’s holiday very happy.

Do You Have a CLEAR+ Account? Go Travel with Kevin!

At select airports, CLEAR+ members can receive free “Home Alone” ornaments when they travel between December 17 and 21. If your name happens to be Kevin, you’ll also get a pass for free CLEAR Concierge service. It’s neat if your name is Kevin, but it’s also kind of unfair for, well, everyone else who isn’t named Kevin.

If You Can’t Travel, Then Scream “KEVIN!”

Finally, if you can’t attend any of the in-person events, you can just watch the movie. If you have a VIZIO remote and a Disney+ subscription, make sure to try screaming “KEVIN!” into your remote from December 19 to 31, and you’ll be instantly taken to the Disney+ app, where “Home Alone” will automatically stream. Be sure to imitate Mrs. McCallister’s voice!
