Is ‘Dooba Dooba’ Teasing To Be the Next Big Found Footage Hit?
Babysitting gigs are supposed to be the easiest money you can make as a teenager. You show up, order a pepperoni pizza, you make sure the kid doesnโt stick a fork in an outlet, and you watch TV until the parents come home. Well, those days are gone because “Dooba Dooba” is going to rob y’all of that sense of security with modern found footage terror.
Dooba Dooba

“Dooba Dooba” follows Amna, a babysitter who arrives at a new gig expecting the usual routine. But things get weird fast. She isn’t watching a toddler; sheโs responsible for a sixteen-year-old named Monroe. The reason is that Monroe suffers from severe anxiety, a result of witnessing her brotherโs murder when she was a child. That is a lot of baggage for a babysitter to unpack for twenty bucks an hour.
As the night goes on, Monroeโs behavior shifts from understandably anxious to “unbearable,” pushing Amna to the breaking point. The teaser hints that by the time Amna realizes she needs to leave, the opportunity has already been lost. The given footage so far shows various imagery that points to themes of mental disorders, trauma, and survival.
The entire movie was shot on an in-home security camera, which is very weird and unnerving. We are literally watching people in their homes through their personal security systems. That perspective is usually associated with creepy stalkers or stalking killers; however, we, the audience, are the ones sitting and watching this horror play out. The camera doesn’t cut or flinch away like the hand-held found footage style. We are reviewing the events of a horrible situation from a cold, distorted, wide-angle lens.
The “Installation” Team Behind The Cameras

Writer and director Ehrland Hollingsworth is overseeing this troubling recording. Helping him make this film come to life is a tight-knit production of lead actress Amna Vegha, also serving as a producer alongside Michelle Sligh, Josh Harris, and Hollingsworth himself. The cast features Amna Vegha as the ill-fated babysitter and includes Betsy Sligh, Winston Haynes, Erin OโMeara, and Billy Hulsey.
While these might not be household names yet, found footage greatly benefits from lesser-known actors to ground the horror in “reality.” You see Chris Hemsworth in this film, and you know for sure it is just a movie. You see a bunch of people you haven’t seen in person or on screen before, and your mind starts to debate if it’s real.
Dark Sky Films’ Indie Horror Street Cred

Dark Sky Films has a solid track record with indie horror, so their stamp of approval on “Dooba Dooba” means it is definitely worth keeping an eye on. I mean, have y’all seen “Henry: The Portrait of a Serial Killer,” “Deathgasm,” or “Willow Creek?” I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of at least one of those films. I’m putting my faith in this modern-perspective horror film and can’t wait to see what it’s made out of. Plus, the release date is Jan. 23, 2026, putting it right in that sweetspot winter horror window.
Final Thoughts: We’re On Observation Babysitter Duty
“The Blair Witch Project” sent a shockwave into this hand-held found footage style (“Cannibal Holocaust” came first, but this one is easier to watch). “Paranormal Activity” tried a new filming perspective with both hand-held and stationary camera methods. And now, “Dooba Dooba.” I can’t wait to see how this whole film – and babysitter – handles with this new point of view in the new year.
