2026 Critics’ Choice Awards Night Highlights

Setting the tone and opening the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards is returning host and comedian Chelsea Handler, keeping the crowd on their toes with her off-the-wall comedy throughout the night.

Timothée Chalamet, in his role for “Marty Supreme,” won Best Actor of the night. Winning the next highest award for an actor was Jessie Buckle for Best Actress for the movie “Hamnet.” Despite “Sinners” being nominated for the most awards and being a fan favorite, the winner for Best Picture was the film “One Battle After Another.” The last two stars closing out the big five categories for the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards were Jacob Elordi for Best Supporting Actor in “Frankenstein,” and Amy Madigan won the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in “Weapons.”

The movies “Frankienstien” and “Sinners” swept the movie category, winning four times. The TV categories were neck and neck, with television series like “The Pitt,” “Adolescence,” and “The Studio” winning several awards at the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards. Paul Thomas Anderson won the award for Best Director with “One Battle After Another,” and Ryan Coogler took home the award for Best Screenplay with “Sinners.”
