Mission Impossible Final Reckoning has its premiere in United States theaters on Friday, May 23. What’s in store for Ethan Hunt in this upcoming installment of the movie franchise? We last saw Hunt on the hunt for a deadly weapon in 2023’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. Here, the newest film, Mission Impossible Final Reckoning, picks up where the last one left off. Can Ethan and crew save the world?
Mission in the Last Mission: Impossible Film
Let’s recap where we left off in Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning. Ethan, aided by Benji, Luther, and Faust, was on the hunt for a special weapon by the name of the “Entity.” Globetrotting (and fighting bad guys, as usual), Ethan discovers that a cyber weapon has gone rogue. It now has the capability to infiltrate multiple security systems. After fleeing from a massive train wreck, Ethan meets up with Benji (Simon Pegg) with crucial information to help destroy the “Entity.”
A couple of fun facts about this latest Mission Impossible film: only digital cameras were used to enhance the effects. Pom Klementieff did most of her own stunts, similar to Tom Cruise. She earned the nickname of “Pom Cruise!”
Mission Impossible Final Reckoning: Trusting One Last Time
Ethan asks his team to trust him – “one last time.” So far, his investigative skills and his instincts have been right, so when he implores his team to trust him, they probably will. He has been spot on before, right? However, AI is supposed to be all-knowing, so we’ll see where this leads. Let’s root for Ethan, Grace, Benji, and Luther for this Mission: Impossible installment. They’ll fix it. We’re fairly sure they will come out on the winning side. Just trust Ethan – one last time!
Mission Impossible Final Reckoning: Is it a Final Installment?
This remains to be seen. It is more than likely a wrap-up, as Tom Cruise has been portraying Ethan Hunt for 30 years. Tom Cruise has also done most of his own stunts in these movies (and others). It looks like Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning might leave the door open for perhaps another film, or maybe for some potential spinoffs, we hope!
